Decent Road tire recommendations

All three tires on the Raptor?
Which Nitto Ridge, the Grappler or the Grappler G2?
What percent do you off-road?
What mileage life have you gotten from the Nittos?

Yes, all three sets were on Raptor. I think the G2 is the Terra Grappler, not the Ridge Grappler. I would say I am off-road 5% of the time. Trails, some high speed, but mostly not. Some sand, etc. I'm in NV, so lots of rocky trails. The rest of the time I'm either driving to work, on the highway on a road trip, or pulling my boat.

Too early to say on the Nittos regarding mileage. I'm only 5k into them. They should go at least 40k based on the tread compound and based on the experience of other truck owners I know here in town who run them. I had the KM3s for about 10k miles, and hated them so much. Could not get them to balance right. I expected them to be louder than the K02s but was sold on the fact that they were designed to ride smooth in spite of the extra noise. They were anything but smooth.

Not only are the Nittos better than the KM3s by a landslide, they are also far superior to the K02s in my opinion, for the kind of driving I do. Road manners on pavement really can't be beat. I mean, that is what they were designed for—AT that looks a lot like an MT.

I tried looking at the tire and wheel thread but couldn't find the answer. I just got new tires, Mickey Thompson ATZ P3 same size as original/stock tire 315/70R17. Got all 4 balanced but i feel like my steering wheel still shakes a bit. My qs is, did anyone had to re-aligned their truck even though your putting on the same tire size/spec.?

I do notice this tire a bit wider, sticks out more but i thought since its same size no alignment needed to be done only balance. I may be wrong, so thats why i decided to ask on here.

Regular balancing or road force?

I've done road force balancing ever since ~2017 and it's made some real aggressive tires feel smooth as they can be.

The MT ATZ is an hybrid(AT/MT) tire IIRC but you should still be able to get a smooth ride out of them.

K02's are the best of both worlds in my view as well.

Snow? We got 30+ inches of snow in a 24 hour period last Thanksgiving and I took her out before the plows were running and she absolutely demolished the snow.

The snow was so deep it was flowing over the hood making it hard to see and keep speed.

Get them rebalance and explain the problem. If it persists you may have a bad tire, changing out tires should not make any new issues appear.

Currently, I have 37x12.50 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They wear well. They look nice. On road manners nice and quiet tire at that.

They were atrocious in snow and ice. When I bought the tires, I lived in Cincinnati. I now live in the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska. The hard rubber compound and lack of siping in the tread were the likely culprits. Forgetting trying to accelerate, I had to be very strategic about braking. The tires still have 12/32 tread but I’m moving away from them in about a month. Going back to the KO2, which I have run on previous 4wd’s. The KO2 is on my wife’s Sequoia as well. It was night and day driving hers and mine, even with sandbags in the bed.

That's what i thought since its the same tire size i shouldn't need to re align. But lets hope i don't have a bad tire.
I will be doing a 4 wheel alignment tommorrow.

After having sets of KO2, Nitto TerraGrapplers, Wranglers, and Wildpeaks, my go to are still the BFG. Have a set on an 87 Toyota, 06 4Runner, 15 JKU, and Raptor. My least favorites were probably the Wildpeaks and Wranglers.
