Does anybody know if a 2011 SCREW version should have both the tailgate step as well as the vertical post? Mine seems to be original, but there was nothing under the plastic liner piece. Also, what's with the missing bracket there? My 2012 3.5 ecoboost version doesn't have any bracket there...

Still have the old plate from my 2001 tacoma prerunner. I bought it 09/10/2001, so the license plate style makes sense.

So, the back half is done. New tires, wheels, brakes, (calipers, pads, rotors & hoses), bed is back on & secured. The electrical connectors were all cleaned or repaired. The wire insulation checked or replaced. Bed stiffeners are done, spare tire mounted with a Y-strap, Newline prerunner...

Checking in from TX with a $19,999.99 Gen 1(DFW)

A 2-post lift in your own garage, with ceiling height to allow you to raise it up? Jealous.

    Should I Buy?? - 2013 Raptor, 373K Miles for $8,000???

At 373K miles, I'd listen for an exhaust leak, valve train noise, and any motor mount issues. All 3 of those are Big Fun to repair.

    Should I Buy?? - 2013 Raptor, 373K Miles for $8,000???

Rebuilding that 6r80 could be as little as $3K for a "carry in" rebuild to $5-6K for an extensive drive-in, drive-out rebuild. If either components (or both) are worn out, I'd look for a " drop out" on eBay, so you can get a replacement engine/trans/transfer case.

    Spare Tire Life Span

My 2011 had 4 worn tires plus a 2014 dated spare with the sticker still intact. That tire is now on my F150 daily driver.

    2018 Raptor 802A+tech + Cobb Stage 2 Goosetuned and more, 124kmi - $39500 obo

Selling a Gen 1 is way worse. I've seen active ads from used car dealers where the vehicle had been for sale more than a year.

    Fox Factory Race Series

Does anybody know where to get replacement steeckers for Gen 2 shocks? Karter doesn't carry them & recommended the stealership. But none of their online catalogs show them. (When you swap them onto a Gen 1, you always need to get one more set for the shock that was mounted backwards on the Gen 2).

    GEN 1 Brake issue

I looked for a long time, but couldn't find an actual legit 3rd-party test. The closest I could find is this before and after test with Alcons. For some unknown reason, even the guys representing the new Wilwood kits haven't (that I've seen) done an unbiased, in depth before and after test...

Any experience fighting a total decision and/or retaining a totaled Raptor

The current resale value of Gen 1 Raptors has crashed; I was shocked when I researched it, but right now, you can get another Gen 1 for under $20K if you look around and wave cash under the seller's nose.

Last July, a homeless guy dragged his shltbox trailer up here and parked it on vacant land 200' from my fence. It took 30 days to get the gubmint & LE to force him to leave. It was certainly annoying to have a stranger camping in the dark in sight of my house, but at least I knew, that he knew...

Bed is back on. There's now a pair of Gen 2 Foxes, with the Schrader valve mod, and KHC shock mounts welded on. All the connectors have been cleaned and inspected for wear. The Newline prerunner bumper will complete the look, along with the dovetail fender mod. The spares will be stacked in the...

And you're gonna build a fence in front of your new house, correct? Everytime you see Ring camera video of a crime, they never seem to have any kind of barrier. Any nutjob, criminal, or homeless guy can step up to your door. In 2024, that's no longer acceptable, IMHO. Even in a cr ap...

Done. BTW, you need a 19mm open socket-style ratcheting wrench and a 5/16" or 8mm socket to slip  inside, to secure the top nut.

D-side Gen 2 Fox with SVC coil adjusters ready to assemble. I'm going to set this side at 1.5" height above the coil sleeve, and the P-side will be about .250" lower, (per their recommendation); and I'm reusing the original coil springs. BTW, it's really nice having the Branick spring...

Gen 1 to Gen 2 suspension conversion methods, buckets vs retrofit

It's definitely possible to cycle the suspension without the spring, lock that part in place (with the set screws), & then grind it to clear. But, when you really huck it; will it clear?
