I completed an order for a fuel line (from the tank to the fuel rail), and their note stated that your cc wouldn't be charged until it shipped, which is common. But 10 days later they finally admitted they couldn't locate the part. In my case the truck is in pieces but if I was needing the part...
I think when you add their ridiculous shipping fees & tax it's close to the eBay price, but (in my experience) RockAuto doesn't ship very quickly and they've had backordered items.
3 grand for extended axles, plus more than that for the UCA's & LCA's; same for the new shocks, then there's new 'glass fitted & painted.... that's just too many cubic dollars for me to consider mid travel.
This is how the hidden captured bolts go on the KHC coil buckets. Photos vs "instructions provided". You'll need to find the smallest child in your village to actually reach inside the frame pivot box and hold the bolt in place to start threading the nut.
"Hey guys didn't see much info on this but I cycled out some of the trakkmotive high angle CV axles and they work fine for my application on stock width 13.625" travel."
The part number for L & R are:
FD8273XTT & FD8274XTT, correct ?
"I am building this with max uptravel as the goal I'm not as concerned about droop"
are you considering notching the frame or doing a "C" cut to increase uptravel? (Kibbetech has done that on their F150 builds, there's probably several sources for the parts needed to do that). It's a lot of...
That's the geiser on a Gen 1 vs the oem on the Gen 2. It's definitely a bigger dia coil, but the easiest way to check clearance it is to lay the oem Gen 2 UCA over the blitzkrieg UCA and compare shapes. Blitzkrieg claims it clears.
A diy vinyl wrap could be completed for $300. At the Barstow ohv area races, I saw several class 1400 race truck teams that would just print multiple copies of their bedside, front clip, etc. graphics; then after each race they just overlayed another vinyl print of the truck color & sponsor...
Honestly, if you use a black truck as a "work truck" the paint coat is gonna be thrashed. Wrapping it is cheaper and easier than repainting it, just to get scratched again.
"The offset also helps with spring clearance at droop"
(That was my next question).
I'm planning on using the oem Gen 2 coils & shocks, the KHC buckets, and blitzkrieg UCA's on my 2011. And you're right, those cv axles are at a reasonable price, especially since everything else is either 4X...
Here's a chance to redeem yourself. https://classifieds.race-dezert.com/FOR-SALE:2011-Ford-Raptor-SVT-203923
Seller neglected to mention any engine or trans info, but it's got some bolt on goodies
What mods do you have? And did you happen to measure the maximum angles at full compression and rebound in the stock configuration? What are they compared to the oem cv axle limits? Those trackmotive cv axles sound like a worthwhile upgrade on my Gen 2 coil bucket mod.... if it gets close at...
