Hey guys didn't see much info on this but I cycled out some of the trakkmotive high angle CV axles and they work fine for my application on stock width 13.625" travel. I wish I put more time on them before giving them a review, they have about 1000miles. And only 70 offroad. So far.

Like I said I wish I had more miles but started that other projects.

With that said. I would recommend so far.

What mods do you have? And did you happen to measure the maximum angles at full compression and rebound in the stock configuration? What are they compared to the oem cv axle limits? Those trackmotive cv axles sound like a worthwhile upgrade on my Gen 2 coil bucket mod.... if it gets close at full compression.

Get these axles if you are doing the bucket. They are seriously cheep. 130.00 bucks each no raptor tax. So if you are doing a prep they will be affordable to change.

The stock CVs have a max useable angle of about 29 degrees they can go more but not if rotating. In full I didn't measure the angle however I did check for binding in relation to droop. The 11.2" ford claims is infact true. That's exactly how much travel I had limited by the oem shocks.

If I took the shocks out the axles bind at 12". By that I mean it was hard to rotate them.

For mods:

I a did a gen 2 bucket,

I built a coaxial spring mount for the shock so I can run normal 3.75 springs, the mount has 10mm of off set for added motion ratio. The offset also helps with spring clearance at droop.

Because my springs are running coaxial to the shock shaft, for the shock, Internally I removed the 1" top out spacer and put in a 3/8" spacer for additional shock travel. Giving this shock 8.625" of shaft travel.

(That was my next question).

I'm planning on using the oem Gen 2 coils & shocks, the KHC buckets, and blitzkrieg UCA's on my 2011. And you're right, those cv axles are at a reasonable price, especially since everything else is either 4X the price or "backordered" until the end of time. Anything that takes so much time and effort to replace should be done now, while the truck is in pieces.

Looking at your pictures, the coils will probably contact the upper control arm. It looks like the OD is a bit larger than the springs I'm using. You'll just need to check. Also I will be changing my upper to a 1.5" outter, the 1"uniball will not cycle through all the droop. I have a few mods on my UCA for now (delta joint and offset rod end) but need the 1.5" outter uniballs.

See in this picture even with a stock shock with ebachs, the control arm Hits the spring AND the uniball binds.

That's the geiser on a Gen 1 vs the oem on the Gen 2. It's definitely a bigger dia coil, but the easiest way to check clearance it is to lay the oem Gen 2 UCA over the blitzkrieg UCA and compare shapes. Blitzkrieg claims it clears.

Yeah that may be a good check. I am starting to wonder...

Is there any difference between 1g and 2g upper or lower control arms? As far as geometry goes?

Blitzkrieg just confirmed that their "boxed steel/bushings"-style UCA's are identical for Gen 1 & 2 Raptors, they actually share the same part number.
