Sold FS GEN 2 Front and Rear shocks

I've got one side finished, the other side gets started soon. The KHC version gives you the choice of welding it on or bolting. I think I'm going to remove some of the powdercoat so I can weld it and bolt it to the stock bucket.

Are you doing the shock bucket mod as well?

Here's a preview of how the Bed Stiffeners will be made: These guys are killing it with their fab work videos. Currently, they are finishing up a classic '90's standard cab 2WD Ranger project that is absolutely pristine.

DONE, unfortunately the black rubber/stainless steel trim material isn't available locally, so I'm moving on to the bed stiffeners for now. I ended up using my 6" cutoff wheel & 4.5in sanding wheel to cut & clean it. BTW Does anybody know what those holes were for?

Dovetail mod started today. Once its cut, there's no going back. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=youtube+rpg+offroad+raptor+dovetail+mod&view=detail&mid=221949DD8E03C137B399221949DD8E03C137B399&FORM=VIRE

So... the Gen 2 Foxes will bolt right up, and allegedly will cycle properly (with Deavers & the KHC upper shock mounts), but there's a slight amount of trimming on the larger 3.0 shock shields to clearance the U bolt plate.

Well, I didn't die. Removed the fuel fill & vent lines at the tank, sealed the tank plastic filler fitting with a rubber cap & hose clamps. Used 3 welding blankets to protect the cab, fuel tank, & all the electronics, plus a spray bottle to keep 'em moist. Had a water bucket & garden hose in the...

GEN 2 100K mile suspension refresh

FoMoCo really should have offered at least FRONT Wilwood brakes as a factory option. The rears would have taken some engineering & testing to get around the parking brake setup, but..... a Raptor with a ($5K?) 4 wheel Wilwood brake system option would be capable of the shortest stopping distance...

The D-side, however.... I'm reminded of a scene in "The Hurt Locker" where the bomb tech was asked about his method to diffuse bombs: "the way you don't die, sir".

Or...... keep it in the cab, ready to toss at those tailgaters that just won't learn?

Does anybody know if this steel block does anything? I guess it is for NVH? The rubber inserts that hold it in place were broken anyway, so I either replace them and reinstall the part, or it becomes a doorstop.

BTW, that took around an hour, from covering the truck cab & fuel tank to sliding the KHC bracket on. It should have been 20min (with the 6" cutoff wheel & 4.5in sanding wheel), but with my wrist in a brace due to carpal tunnel, it's 3X the time. That being said, I highly recommend to remove...

The bed is off my 2011. I've got KHC rear shock mounts, Gen 2 3.0 Foxes, a rear bumper by Newline Products on order, Deavers to be ordered soon. Also 2.5 bumpstops on welded mounts, and doubled limit straps to come.

GEN 2 100K mile suspension refresh

There's so much potential to a motor that already has port injection & direct injection. Bolting on a bigger fuel pump and injectors, throttle body, turbos & headers and a better intercooler to that HO 3.5 ecoboost has been done for years. A friend of mine purchased a Raptor motor/trans dropout...

    Problem with Fox 3.0

So those were the Fox 3.0 FRS vs King 3.0 PRS ("Pure Race Series") Raptor-spec shocks? Did they have similar spring rates printed on the coils? Obviously, those are both reputable brands but King has always focused on performance over everything else.

Are those calipers designed to clear your 17" wheels? I thought only Alcon & Wilwood were. Brembo requires 20's.

GEN 2 100K mile suspension refresh

I bet you could just order a 2wd SCAB f150 with the $12K FP700 supercharger option, then do a "Raptor Conversion". I've seen a complete Gen 3 takeoff suspension for $5K on off-road sites.. You could build it around 37's, stick with 2WD, keep it light as possible, and vinyl wrap it yourself...

GEN 2 100K mile suspension refresh

"but again, don't want to go too crazy with this build" Good luck with that. But seriously, I'd at least consider these instead of swapping in a new fuel tank. When you need to carry more fuel, just bundle them together and you're set. I'd rather lend out one of them on the trail to a friend...

Did you change out those shltty oem headlight bulbs? My 2011 SVT Raptor has them and they are scary bad. I already swapped them to LED bulbs on my daily driver (2012 Ecoboost F150).

Congratulations. But you gotta give us more. Do you do regular oil/fluid changes, or never ever let anyone borrow it, or use only premium fuel? Did you have to replace any valve springs, the 6r80 leadframe, leaky PS lines, the starter & battery, etc? Does the fuel gage still read accurately, or...

You have to remove the pan and the valve body. (It's lots of fun). Check out the video at about 17min in: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=Fordtechmakuloco+videos+6r80+leadframe+&view=detail&mid=307109EA12FED946157E307109EA12FED946157E&FORM=VDRVSR&ajaxhist=0

    Problem with Fox 3.0

Yup. I ended up buying the Branick 7600. I've used it with the cheesy spring compressor bolts at the same time to get off the big (600lb) coil springs slowly and safely. It's another "buy once, cry once" investment so YOU choose when to work on your stuff. It's also available to the neighbors...
