So I had RPG Traction bars installed a few weeks ago. Here's my on-road review:
Background - 2019 truck, stock shocks, Deaver +4HD leaf springs and Eibachs up front. JDM tune and 35" Yokohama X-AT tires everything else is stock.
1. They DID completely eliminate wheel hop in wet and dry...
Thanks Oldfart! You convinced me that if you could figure out how to use Forscan then anybody could! I just got rid of the double honk and do-do-do chime!
Which trails did you go on?
The dirt road to Santa Ellena is my favorite! Usually go 70mph to 90mph and get some air, good times! We've been 5 times in 2 Raptors and it's always a blast!
Most of the pinstripes on my Gen1 buffed out!
I'm happy to report that the loud ticking noise has not come back. Maybe it was because the oil was low and I'm 400 miles away from changing it. (Mobile 1 every 5k miles)
Thanks!
Thanks! I shut the truck off as soon as I heard it. Cold start and I'd say it lasted about 30 seconds. It's sounded like my 2015 Viper, just loud ticking. It's completely gone away now and the truck is driving fine.
I started my truck this morning and instantly got a loud valve train ticking noise. I shut the truck off and checked the oil and it was about 3/4 of a quart low. I added oil, started the truck and the ticking noise went away.
Does that sound like cam phasers? Can the dealership diagnose the...
Correct, I removed the drop shackles and had the stock shackles re-installed. Yes, I would install with stock length shackles first with the +4HD's. If it's too high for you then drop shackles would bring it down some. My truck is also a '19 and the weight we both carry in the bed along with...
Here's a thread I started with similar questions. I'm still happy with my choice and even with the bed full of stuff, with the HD springs the rear doesn't really sag at all.

Edit: I re-installed the stock shackles and shortly after this post and with the rear tires @ 34psi, the rear was still at 42inch from fender to the ground.
I was ok with stock power levels but after the intercooler and tune, 1st gear spins with anything over half throttle. I hope the traction bars will change that and give me better traction in the rain too.
Let me rephrase.... the light on the dash came on and truck went into limp mode with the "wrench" light while slowly accelerating past 80mph with no cars in front of me. This happened with the camera plugged in and the pre-collision disabled in the dash.
I had to turn the truck off, lock it...
Figures, guess I'll just have to close the message every time. So @FordTechOne , how do you explain going in to limp mode when the pre-collision was "off" under the dash settings?
It's a plastic cover above the rear view mirror. If I get tired of turning off the pop-up every time I start the truck, I might just cover the camera with a piece of tape.
I just unplugged it. Pretty easy to just pull the cover off. Wonder what else works off of that camera.
Just gives you this warning on the dash when you start the truck and no wrench.
