I ran Method NV's for almost 10 years and was ready for a change and also wanted 37s. I went with KMC Summit for the offset and something that no everyone else has. They are also what KMC calls "grey tint" so they aren't totally black. I am loving my new set up!
I'm running 37's on mid perch with KMC Summit 17x8.5 18mm offset. No rub on road and mild rub under light off road conditions. But I didn't trip or cut or hammer anything.
Friend running 37's mid perch with factory beadlocks and no rubbing at all.
Since you asked... I don't get why you would spend the time or money on stock for stock. The difference is nominal and nothing wrong with the Gen 1 factory step IMO.
Rubbing update - No rubbing at all around town, which surprises me actually. I did rub at full lock doing some mild off-roading when we went riding the other day.
I just installed 37s on my 1st Gen and the transmission is definitely busier on the freeway going between 5th and 6th more than when I was on 35s. But no I'm not going to re-gear.
@tcm glx Your rig gave me inspiration. I actually chose these wheels because they aren't all black, they are grey in the center even though you can't tell in the pics.
I've only had them on for a few days but not yet. The 17.8.5 +18 is a good wheel size and keeps it close to the stock sizing. Also the smaller KO2 helps.
Finally got my new setup done and really happy with the results.

Raptor all stock on mid-perch
At this point I'm just trying to avoid paying almost $2k for tires! And no I don't want off brand tires.
More curious what people are paying for quality 37s right now.
