I'm on the top perch, and have RPG tie rods and upper A arms. Stock springs and stock Fox shocks. The truck has 67k miles on it, and the suspension has been set up like this for around half those miles. I don't baby the thing, but I'm not an idiot with it either.
Over the past 10k miles or...
What world do you live in? Drop the attitude and go reread the posts in order, without seeing usernames. You're going to see that someone suggest NOT that you're some asshole forcing people to do anything, but that this is easy enough to do and therefore worth trying for onesself. The ego...
Indeed. Challenge you even just a little bit and you lose your mind... At least you're predictable.
Hey, its all good. You clearly care about being right here, and I don't so more power to ya. Leave 'em on guys, because Blue says so. Good enough for me!
Yep. Because taking the opinion of one guy as gospel is doing yourself a disservice, especially when, as in this case, it's such a seat of your own pants thing.
Surely you're not claiming you're "right" about this and others are "wrong", yes? ;)
There are lots of opinions here born from 10s of thousands of off road miles. No disrespect to Blue, but his voice is by no means the only educated one in the group.
Did you take a sec and pull the link and try it both ways for yourself? Takes all of 2 minutes to do.
LOL yeah I do, but its kinda lame there's no auto off feature to protect the battery. If they can make it ding, they sure as heck can turn them off ;)
Negative Ghost Rider. See why above.
Yep. DRLs wont work for this though; our nanny state has decided that DRLs aren't bright enough, and that if you don't have your actual headlights on in certain corridors, you'll get slapped with a ticket. Ask me how I know... :wtf:
So right now I'm turning them on and off when I get in and...
Mines a 2010, and I have an auto setting too. But what I need to do is have the headlights on all the time, and let the auto setting control the illumination of the dash; for example if I just tape over the sensor, the headlights turn on but the dash dims too, to the point where I can't see the...
What I'm hoping to do is just leave my headlights on all the time (switch turned to On) but for that to work I'd need them to auto off when the truck is shut down.
I tried it and wound up with a dead battery. Maybe I don't have a setting right? Any thoughts?
I'm sure it will all do the job you're hoping it will. But that sure seems like a lot of extra stuff to go wrong. If you plan to wheel your truck, you might want to consider keeping things as simple as possible.
How do you plan to use the bed?
No matter what you answer, I would dump the plastic liner. If for no other reason that it does kill the paint underneath (as has already been mentioned) whether your using it or not.
If you plan to hard use your bed, then LineX all the way for sure. IMHO...
I can't speak for any other options, but I can definitely vouch for the LightForces. I was in the desert just last weekend, and they let me easily pick out rabbits crossing the trail 500+ feet up ahead.
Even so, there's no reason not to go with the newer 50W versions. I don't know how much...
I've really enjoyed it. Now that I've had it for a year, I've realized that there are a few tweaks I would make if I had to do it again, but overall I'm totally happy with it. ADD knocked the build out of the park, that's for sure.
Which is my favorite? Still gotta go with the one we co designed and you guys build for me. Shocking, I know ;)
And it all tucks away nice and neat under the cover.
;)
