Let’s be honest- The Raptor R is going to be expensive!

Right, but that only proves his point more. Nobody needs 700+ HP, offroad capability, AND high-end luxury to travel to work, school, or Starbucks. Therefore, stating that the Raptor R must be accessible to the "average Joe with a paycheck" is silly.

Let’s be honest- The Raptor R is going to be expensive!

Speed and liability, and to a lesser extent, MPG. RAM had to get tires specially designed for the TRX, whose speed limiter of 118 mph is based on the tires. There are few, if any, other 35" offroad tires out there with a speed rating over 100 mph. Now consider 37s - what would be the point in...

Let’s be honest- The Raptor R is going to be expensive!

Maybe. Figure the engine premium will be about $10k. The R will almost certainly not be offered with 37s, so I think the engine premium has to be added onto the the cost of a decked-out 35s instead. My guess is $85k base, rising to $90k top end with not many standalone options available.

    21 ordered

Did anyone get a printout of their official order, or are all these "orders" just the dealer saying they did?

37 inch Package Limited for 21?

What makes you think it's high margin? What about warranty issues and maintenance costs?

37 inch Package Limited for 21?

Hot take: Ford does not really want to sell too many 37s packages.

    B&P live tomorrow

It is also expensive and in short supply, and was (allegedly) the source of many a delayed TRX order. Fair warning.

    B&P live tomorrow

Tremor comes in Stone Gray.. that color would look amazing on a Raptor, especially with 801A bronze stitching.

Wow.. that's a big change. Those BFGs are an amazing tire.

    What?! No more BFG?!!!!

    B&P live tomorrow

It doesn't even say "Raptor" anywhere on the B&P so it is clearly still a work in progress.

    B&P live tomorrow

Does the Ford B&P not have one of those nifty 360 interior view tools? The small pictures make it hard to really see the interior.

Dealers called said they could take my order?

FRF: "Never listen to dealers, they are clueless about everything" Also FRF: *listens to dealers*

    450 horse/550 ft/lbs torque???????

Gen 2 and Gen 3 do not share the same suspension..

    Pay $5k over MSRP?

Especially not in the current environment when there is so much uncertainty around when you will get the truck.

    450 horse/550 ft/lbs torque???????

I almost think the hype around the TRX is causing inflated expectations. Like, yeah, it has 700hp, cool, but it's also a big heavy full-size truck. Of course it isn't going to feel as fast as a Redeye Challenger or a Trackhawk or whatever. Still a little weird that he didn't like it coming from...

    37 vs 35 Tires

So much for the R coming with 37s.. oof!

Raptor R Available in 35, 37 or both?

There is absolutely zero chance that the R will be anything like you describe. It will come with every high-end feature possible, probably mandatory, not just as options. It will not have a roll bar, five-point harnesses, etc. Besides, it's just more HP, right? What does that even matter to...

    450 horse/550 ft/lbs torque???????

Why do so many people on this forum keep saying something to this effect.. "Ford will sell every Gen 3 they make"? You know who else sells every vehicle they make? Literally every car manufacturer in the world.

    450 horse/550 ft/lbs torque???????

The Raptor is tied to the F150 cycle, which will probably not be redesigned for four-plus more years. I doubt they would branch the Raptor off into it's own class and modify it independently.

Raptor R Available in 35, 37 or both?

It's all speculation. Some say that the exhaust is different, but I couldn't tell them apart. All other alleged sightings rely on "the V8 sound", which is tough to discern via an Instagram clip. Absolutely nothing concrete is known about the R beyond that Ford said it will exist at some point...
