Let’s be honest- The Raptor R is going to be expensive!

I don't think people should be concerned with how much more the R is over the Base Raptor, but how much the dealers are going to ADM the R out of the market, I'm really hoping FORD steps in and guarantees the average Joe with a paycheck can get one if he wants.

Unfortunately the following is true.

No matter the cost or ADM. they will sell all of them, especially if they are limited in number.

I don’t like ADM either but to own this beast I would go as high as 5k over to secure one. I’m sure they will be going for 10-25k more.

I agree, I think a minimum of $100k is what it will take to buy this truck.
No Raptor R w/ 37’s? How do you figure that? If Ford is truly hell bent on going after the TRX, wouldn’t the 37” package with more HP/Torque than the TRX be the official kick in the nuts people are hoping to see from Ford instead of this Lightning and Maverick BS they are pushing down our throats?

Speed and liability, and to a lesser extent, MPG.

RAM had to get tires specially designed for the TRX, whose speed limiter of 118 mph is based on the tires.

There are few, if any, other 35" offroad tires out there with a speed rating over 100 mph.

Now consider 37s - what would be the point in having a Raptor R that is rated for 90 mph top speed or something ridiculous?

Sure, you can put 37s on a TRX, but at that point, the liability is transferred off of RAM and onto the consumer.

Not to mention the reduced handling, higher center of gravity, etc. with 37s. And we all know how eco-conscious Ford is now, so while the MPG loss with 37s won't be much, it will matter.

So no, I don't see Ford allowing 37s with the R.

That's the ADM for a regular Raptor, I wouldn't be surprised to see $50k ADM at a dealer for a R if FORD doesn't do securities.

I just don't know. I can see both scenarios happening. Ford is obviously very concerned about price. Their entry price for the Lightning and Maverick prove that. But they may look at the Raptor R like the GT500. Don't care how many we sell. Don't care if you don't like the price. If you want to play, you pay.

Best case scenario, IMO, would be an $8k premium for the engine upgrade, making a nicely equipped version about $91k, which is directly competitive with the TRX. But I wouldn't be at all surprised to see $100k+

100% - If it's anything like it is now I don't see how anyone is going to want to spend the 5-10-15-20 ADM on top of an ~8K extra base price for the V8.. but hey if you got the money lol

The Raptor R is going to be more than just an engine upgrade, I would expect the entire drivetrain changed to handle that kind of power. It is likely going to be a very limited production vehicle so there will probably be very few if any options besides the color. Price shouldn't be as concerning as just being able to get one in the first place on top of finding a dealer that won't have an outrageous ADM.

I bet the MSRP is much higher than 10k from the base Raptor, and Ford will have no problem selling them. Look how many $100K GT500's they sold.
