Hey guys, make sure you add to the cam phaser poll. I've see a whole lot more members post they have issues than voted.

Bump to the top. I see others reporting cam phaser failures on other post.

My truck sounds like shit regardless of that troll posting. Apparently I'm not alone here.

Crazy thing is multiple posters from other cam phaser threads haven't even voted yet. A couple have gotten rid of their trucks.

Call them and set the appointment for when you get back. The trucks runs with this issues. You only get codes/check engine light when it's far along (bad)

I will say.... once a poll was posted on the RS board was when members started to take notice that it was a larger issue than a few cars. I should probably start one on here.

People were saying the same thing about the Headgaskets on the RS and look how that turned out. PS I'm not taking anything SL75 post as facts/truth.

Guys...... there is a pattern of failure here. One member said his dealer had 10 trucks in for phasers. Of course I don't have access to the numbers. The fact that ford has revised this part (what appears multiple times) should tell you something. Does it mean every truck will have...

Actually..... trucks that have gotten the revised parts have already failed again. There are certainly a lot of new people having issues on boards/social media as these trucks get past 20-30k miles.

You have to look at your state laws as they vary.

I'm surprised some of you haven't asked Ford for a buy back/replacement. Although I noticed a few of you are "brand new"members.

No sasquatch here and I feel that is what has gone on with my truck. My sounds have expanded. I now have a metallic on and off sound for a second to 3 for the first minute or two while turned on. It sounds bad and then has a diesel tone when heated up to operating temperature.

I'm pursuing the matter outside of Ford's customer line. If anyone wants to discuss our common issues further let me know. It can only solidify our cases with Ford.

That is nuts.... Have you considered asking for a buy back or replacement?

I've taken my dispute a little higher and will lawyer up if need be. Make sure you save all of your paperwork, document everything, and don't don't hesitate to take it to a dealer as soon as you have an issue.

Are you in SE PA? I just had the valve covers done myself. I'm looking for another dealer to take my truck to as I believe I have other issues.

I have multiple videos, including day before, day I dropped it off, and minutes after picking it up all with start up rattle/and or tick once warm. In total I have 4 visits to the same dealer for low oil/cam phaser noise in 6 months. We can all see where this is leading to.

Didn't get anywhere with the dealer so I'm opening a case with Ford. Dealer acknowledged the tick but claims it's normal. (Its clearly not)

Yup, I have a similar rattle and a tick from the passenger side once it's warm. I think my rattle is a bit louder but my Borla Atak muffler drowns everything out to the untrained ear.

Anyone have any good pre fix videos? I have a tick that has developed that I believe is a cam phaser. Sounds like it's coming from the passenger side.

I would love to hear/see them. I think I'm going through it on my truck currently.

I had to bring it in early for a few other issues before the required mileage. They took a look at my oil level and it was low compared to how much I've driven. I'm having new valve covers installed this week. This truck has been back to a dealer more times in a year than any other vehicle...
