My info comes from one of the guys responsible for making sure they have the right amount of specific alloy ingot & molten metal to supply the production of all their engine platforms, so in other words- he would know if there’s going to be an increase in production volume for the 5.2 va the 5.0...
Was told by Ford purchasing Mgr there will be a Raptor R w/ 5.2 SC engine, it’s not going to be a huge talking point b/c it’s going to be extremely limited production (of course if they have a huge interest/demand & can justify it probably see more volume)
guy made it seem it’d be like Ford GT...
Find me a case where someone had warranty work denied for a tune
seriously- been on this forum now for 4 years, never once heard a peep, have heard lifts/springs/A-arms create warranty issues
I also believe a standard tune from a reliable tuner isn’t going to do squat in terms of diminishing...
Dude I’m not even a big fan of dodge or TRX or Ram, but that logic is ridiculous- no, it’s not an equal comparison since the Ram doesn’t offer a 37” package….but it DOES offer a supercharged 707hp V8 “package”, & I venture to guess more prospective buyers would place a higher value on the blown...
As I stated earlier, I do think you can get 500whp on a Dynojet (not a mustang dyno) based on the fact I have seen 450+ whp dyno #s from essentially tune-only trucks. It doesn't seem like CAI's do much of anything & the stock air intake is quite good. I think going crazy w/ bigger turbos - while...
Def don’t wanna drive a raptor (or any truck really) much past 100mph on the street anyhow for lots of reasons, not the least of which are physics & very hard objects
What’s the reason? Seriously I have no idea, not interested in doing this but I don’t see what the issue would be - I just assume Ford made it that way to keep the sound down & not sound obnoxious to most prospective buyers
Yeah I got a ‘20 raptor too, had an ‘18….that don’t make me want a “2021” Raptor off the bat w/o driving one for the same reason I sure as S**T wouldn’t want a 2017 Raptor over my 2020 even if they both had 0 miles on the odometer….& I know you wouldn’t disagree w/ that
I dont hate on it- I wait patiently for you guys to tell me what the good/bad/ugly is on a new model & then I’ll dive in after a couple model years of production. Just not something I’d do…..& for good reason, it’s something I’ve already done in my life spur of the moment & 2 outta 3 times...
the truck is “worth” whatever it’s worth to you at the current time it’s totaled (as in what it would take to replace equally or sell to someone), it’s valued whatever it’s valued at by the in’s company @ the time it’s totaled….that being said, there’s also the total amount you paid outright +...
That feelings great & all until a distracted broad looking @ Tintok on her phone runs a red light & smashes into you broadside totaling your truck & the $3500 in mods attached to it….feeling was also very secure until a deer opted to launch itself over the guard rail directly into my truck while...
500bhp? Tune alone easily gets you there, 500whp? Probably take lil more aggressive tune + turbo adapters + down pipes maybe throw in some **** for good measure & I’d imagine you’d be over 500whp
there’s tune-only trucks hitting 450+whp
The Raptor is supposed to be a purpose built off-road truck right? I know many owners don’t use it that way….but that’s the intent of design. It’s fairly common knowledge (or you can go try it out for yourself) the gen2 Raptor will pretty easily outrun it’s suspension capability in stock trim...
“The raptor is deficient in the power dept”…..umm tell me bud, UNTIL the TRX came out, what other 1/2 ton was more powerful than a Raptor? The answer is none. There was never a 4wd 1/2 ton production truck more powerful ever produced. Period. None.
450hp/510tq is “deficient”- in a way that...
Isn't the price difference pretty significant?
What are the advantages of going w/ the Fox Factory shocks in the rear vs staying w/ OEM? IS there are ride height adjustability in the rears? Do people typically use these in conjunction w/ deaver leaf springs or can you use w/ stock rear leaf...
That S2000 would've been a nice one to keep, I've been looking around for a nice clean stock late model example & DAMN have the prices held/increased as of late!!
Yeah I didn’t realize that was the chief concern- that being said, a simple sloped roof extending off house w/ some supports would be sufficient, affordable, & not look bad aesthetically if you have the room for it on the side of the home
