or brand new long blocks.
You are correct about the Catch Cans. Whats intersting to me is on the GT500 they install them at the dealer or the consumer can as they come in the car as part of the handling pack. They self drain to the oil pan. I also believe its on the dirty side (passenger), which as I understood you...
I instantly discount any "mod" thats "how ford should have done it". Generally, those companies dont understand completely engineered systems. Thought to be honest thats most of the aftermarket.
Whatever light you get id put a good antisieze or corrosion x on during assembly(if its already assembled, pull it apart). I am in the process of trying to swap one of my lenses but aftermarket companies don't plan for dissimilar metals so I'm having trouble getting the screws out of the...
If your going to offroad, the step is only added weight and increased stress. I ordred no step on my gen 2 for this reason. Usually when you see the tailgate seperation that bed supports are sold for its the heavier tailgate steps in the durablity trucks.
Shocks can be non leaking and the fluid can be beyond its life. So this is only half correct. Your 65k shocks for sure need a rebuild. Are they ok, sure, are they performing the way they are intended. For sure they are not. I rebuilt mine at 54k and it made a huge difference, but they...
Just did sway bar end links on the truck yesterday and thought I'd post up a video of the new vs the old that was worn and failed. No more "tuka tuka" as I go down the road anymore.......
I know there are a few threads on this but I havent seen a visual so figured others may find this useful.
I just did my passenger side at 98k. Driver side was done about 30k, still seemed good. You really have to to have all the weight off the suspention to tell. Sitting on the ground you cant get the end links to move my hand. Maybe with a pry bar or vice grip as suggested. I just knew mine...
Totally understand your frustration, same experience unless you have a personal relationship as a focus or raptor R.
I'd pick up forscan free, just pay for the adapter. Its nice to have anyway.
This is funny. I always ask my buddy that has some classic cars, how they were back in the day from the factory. Ie Well the car doesnt stop great (1970 Mach 1), so I asked him how they stopped direct from the factory. He says "they didnt, the pedal to the brake was a mere suggestion to the...
The OE setup seems to last quite a while so I just used the same.
I highly recommend doing the exact OE partnumber not the motorcraft aftermarket part number.
Yes some of the durablity trucks have had gaps happen after hard offroading, usually with the heavy tailgate step it is worse. I've also seen a ton not have an increased gap without bed supports. I just did them as they were easy and gave me more tiedown points.
Interesting because ive had some slams, one time i thought the rear end dropped out on a downshift on the freeway. I saw there was a new TSB on these trans, but I cant remember what its for. flyingwrenches had it on his youtube.
You need bulge ones from Goriila, note they changed their bulge design a couple years back and they are still the same conical shape 60 degrees as OEM but the bulge is not as large. I fought with goriilla about it for a while and they said they changed the design. The larger bulge allows the...
