    GEN 1 Suspension help

If you arent doing a ton of off-roading, I'd just stick with rebuilds. A 3.0 is a large upgrade. If you've got the money and it isn't as big of a factor to you, go for it, just know that they may need rebuilds again soon, but so will many shocks.

Remote Start - Air Conditioning Question

You're seriously going to assume a Raptor operates in the same fashion as your 45 year old Datsun? Dafuq? If you're so concerned about "Spoiled Frailty" then why did you get such a well-optioned truck, instead of picking up a 70s Manual trans V8 Ford, which caters to such a rugged mountain man...

    Rear Leaf Springs

There's way too much spoon feeding going on here for a topic covered so extensively, because there's really only 2 leaf spring options available. Learn to search

    Stock height rear shock length

I don't care how you modify your raptor, that's your choice, I just didnt understand the method you were choosing to achieve it, and was trying to keep you from making a costly mistake. The shocks on a raptor aren't normal, they have internal bypass holes, so it's just a little different than...

School me on the badlands winch

I've heard good things about the badlands.....for the money. I had a Smittybuilt on my rock crawler and it was just fine, for the money.

    Stock height rear shock length

And I tend to be an asshole, to a fault.... :) I cut my forum teeth on some rough and unforgiving boards, so I tend to revert back to it from time to time on unsuspecting victims. Your scenario is correct, but not the way you'd like to apply it here, I think. Did you lower your truck, or do you...

    Stock height rear shock length

What does the static piston location on a normal shock have to do with it's ride quality? Your shock is built for your application. You won't bottom out your shock if you have your factory bumpstops still in place, regardless of where the suspension has sagged/been modified to. If you installed...

    Payload SUCKS!!

Agreed on the entry level, I meant to say that the "Entry level" parts for raptors are currently pretty "full kill". To me, the biggest problem with the stock stuff is that a 2.5 IBP is really a 2.0 diameter piston shock, and doesn't hold much fluid, so it heats up and breaks down quickly, hence...

    Payload SUCKS!!

You didn't catch my sarcasm, I wasn't being 100% serious. I agree the parts are overpriced. Speaking of bathing in expensive liquids though, when you have members doing a diff cover changeout on a brand new truck and using additional Amsoil to "wash out" their diff, jeezus christ man....no...

    Payload SUCKS!!

When you spend 80k on a truck, what's another 2 grand for new springs? Full disclosure, I ordered some right before the lockdown, as well as coilovers, which won't show up until who knows when now.

    Payload SUCKS!!

So you're telling me Deaver quoted you $1200 for adding a leaf, when an entire new pack they sell is $1400-1500? https://forged-offroad.com/product/deaver-rear-springs-for-your-ford-raptor/?v=f24485ae434a Sorry, just a bit hard to believe.....

    Payload SUCKS!!

I don't quite understand what you're saying, but a deaver pack is not just an OEM takeoff with an added leaf. I think we need more info there to know what you're talking about. Sounds fishy for sure....

    Kinetic Rope Storage?

Sure this won't be too much weight for the truck? :D:D:D But seriously, Holy shit man. $700 in recovery gear? That rope looks WAY oversized for a standard fullize truck that isnt getting top loader rockwell axles and 52" implement tires buried in a sticky mud hole. I've been using standard $40...

    Icon stage 4 help

Coilovers have a more finite height adjustment via spring preload using a threaded nut you can adjust, so not just the three settings of perches on the stockers. You can probably do it on the truck with the specific spanner wrench, but it's best to pull and use a spring compressor to decrease...

    Raptor XT?

One of the really nice things was that I think they also had a full chromo cage built in. It was in a peterson's mag a long time back. They didn't come with Vins so that you couldnt register them on-road. Seems like a lot of money for something a shop could build you better, for a similar price...

GEN 1 Couple of new owner questions

Look like halogen housings for sure, the HID ones are darker and have what looks like it should be a DRL, but it isnt. I bet they just put some LED bulbs in it, or used the existing ballasts with whatever HID bulb size that light housing takes, because I doubt it was the same bulb as the HID ones.

    Payload SUCKS!!

Slappy, We're just upset that after this many posts, you're still this dumb. The raptor isn't like every other truck, that's why it sells so well: Because it's a souped-up luxo off road toy, not a hauler. It doesn't ride "like a truck" because it wasn't meant to. Bash it all you want, I DGAF...
