I have a 2014 with the stock HIDs. I am satisfied with the light pattern, but find the light output a bit weak. Is there a way to swap out the bulbs and ballasts only and replace them with 50W ballasts and bulbs? In other words, keep the reflector and housing, etc. Will this require upgrading the wiring to thinker gauge? Is there a kit made by anyone that accomplishes this without having to buy an entire new housing for $1000?

Thanks.

I second the above post. A projector is build to specifications of a certain wattage of bulb. 50w projectors are a bit larger as well to get rid of the extra heat. You will have glare if you put 50w bulbs in your 35w projectors.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I've PM'd Raptor Retrofit several times and haven't heard anything - last time I PM'd was September 30 this year. I figured they were no longer here.

I'll try again.

Thanks again.

here, on frf
you may have an issue of melting the housing because of the higher output. i dont think the projector would need to be different in regards to optics. an hid is an hid. if its set up for hid lighs then any hid should work. its just the operating temp will be substantially higher with the 50watt.

If you change the bulb to higher output, optics must change. If not, you will get glare.
As far as raptorretrofits, have any of you experienced short life / moisture in lens? I had seen some bad reviews on these in my raptor light search.
