Thanks! I may try their new "smoke" color. It may match the existing badging better.

Or... I may just blackout the existing badges.

I should have taken pics along the way... sorry guys. I just had no idea how it would turn out... so I didn't.

This was an EASY mod. The hardest part was masking off the camera housing.

I did not remove anything from the truck.

I masked the entire badge by running maskingtape between the badge and the tailgate all the way around the oval. Very easy to do. Then masked the camera... this was a bit tedious.

I then just put a piece of tape over the blue part of the emblem, and went to town.

I did about 6 coats. 20 min between coats.... I was detailing the wife's car between coats so the time went by fast.

Once it dried I removed the mask from the tailgate, and then removed the peice of tape over the oval.

That left me with a non-plastidipped rectangle in the middle of the emblem. Using my finger I started rolling up the plastidip until I could grab it... and started peeling.

Because there is a gap between the emblem and the bezel... the plastidip self cut a perfect oval.

Kinda hard to explain, but basically whenever there is a gap, the plastidip will always cut along the gap edge.

Very easy mod.

So there has to be some folks out there that don't like it. I am curious to get your feedback.

I am not sure that I am sold on the black and the chrome. Do you think it draws more attention to the chrome emblem, or does it, in fact, tone the chrome down?
