I was laying in my bed fixing the seal on my tonneau cover and noticed under the rails how shoddy the spray-in was done from the factory. Anyone else with the factory job have this same quality? Does most Line-X shops do a better job than this or is this normal for any spray-in?

Nope, a lot of guys have said line-x kills the factory spray in. You are not alone. I opted out of factory liner due to all the reviews I read about the two.

Yea I've heard bad things about the factory spray jobs. I got a Line X spray in on my current raptor and I will again when I get the new one.

i ordered mine without the factory liner in 2012. we just got a 2013 for my business partner right before raptoberfest, and we HAD to get it with the factory liner. really sucks since that is our business, but they are starting to mess with dealership allotments in relation to factory liner purchase. Ive fixed plenty of them to know they are terrible. Line-X is far superior in many ways. its going to take guys like yall to kick back against this OEM fad, and even then that may not be enough.

I got the factory spray in liner on mine. I think it looks done pretty well except they don't spray the bottom of the tailgate that is only exposed when it's open, or down the backside of the bed across from there. This is very poor of them. The two trucks that my family has that have the line x are done in these spots. Now there is two 1/8" edges to catch on when you slide things in or out, plus there is lot of paint that'll get scratched up on the bottom of the tailgate. I wish I would have just got the line x now. Maybe I can pay them just to coat those two spots for me.

Would this stop me from getting the factory sprayed liner? NO

I was going to have mine sprayed with the factory liner but didn't. Only reason I didn't was the extra time it will take to produce my truck. I had heard the was a long delay in getting the bed sprayed.

I would like to see some pics from users trucks (not line-x dealer supplied pics) to see the coverage of this area. I would like to see how much of a difference there is between factory and a run of the mill Line-X dealer.

When I get my truck one of the first things I am having done is getting a Line-X sprayed, just having a hard time finding reviews for the dealers around me to see which one does the best job.

i can get pics of how the coverage areas are, and how the paint is rubbed. not some kind of pics photoshopped made to look worse stuff. i may be a linex dealer and pretty biased in my opinions, but the pictures will speak for themselves. i know quite a few shops around the country. what area are you in? i may be able to point you in the right direction.
