First I would like to thank birdman for his write up on how to use the factory sub wires for the install of a new sub.
A little backround: I traded my 2010 fx4 scab in on a 2010 raptor a couple weeks ago and was disappointed in the factory Sony system. This could be because of what I had in the last truck. The fx4 had the base stereo, it was awful and didn't even last a month. I built a custom box for 3 10"s and had a sop install 2 kicker amps, door speakers and the factory a pillar tweeters. I removed all but the speakers before I traded it in.
The last trucks set up:

With the raptor having the navi screen I didn't want to take the whole dash apart so birdmans setup seemed like the way to go for now. I had the amps and subs form the old truck so that's what I used. I have the skill set to build my own box, so here's what I came up with:

I installed the amp behind the seat and put the new box in the place of the factor Sony sub. After all the tuning of the amp a head unit I am happy for the time being. Sounds way better then the factory sub and doesn't cut out when up turn up the volume. I just still miss my old setup, it was so loud!!
