Hey can someone tell me if the Amber lenses for the KC lights in Jeffs kit ( that white backing which looks like paper) supposed to stay on, or are you supposed to somehow peel that off?

Because it doesn't look like it's meant to peel off. Please let me know thank you!

Peel it. Just there to prevent scratching during transport.

I just received the last part of my order late today...SO I now have everything to get it all installed!

Hopefully I can start the install tomorrow night; or weekend for sure :)

Yah...Well here is a real area of contention that I just discovered. The "Raptor specific" wiring harness DOES NOT FIT THE BAJA LIGHTS!!!

It is "specific" ONLY to the "KC's" ---Why isn't THIS mentioned anywhere in the ordering of a "specific to your setup" harness??

PISSED...( I know it's not that big of a deal because I can snip the Baja ends and connect them to the wiring harness)

This does DEFEAT the whole "specific" wiring thing...Geeze

If I am wrong about this, OR the WRONG HARNESS was sent, please let me know before I start cutting...

Good question... I have to direct that one to Jeff. I'm not sure if he specifically builds the harness as folks order the kits from him or not. We're a reseller so the bezel comes with a harness for the single pair of KC Lites..

Jeff are there different wiring harnesses based on what the "additonal" lights are that are ordered?

I think Baja is the only company that uses Weather Pack connectors, everybody else seems to do Deutsch. But Jeff will let us know (hopefully) what the case is. MY GUESS, again he'll verify, is that the harnesses only have the deutsch (spelling?) style connectors since that's what the majority of the industry uses (for what it's worth I did ask Baja WHY they use a different connector one day and they told me that while the Weather Pack cost more, it's a better connector... I tend to agree, i've had issues with Deutsch connectors falling apart and requiring a good crimp)

Every light uses the DT connectors except Baja designs. Included in the Baja designs box are the crimp on weather pack connectors. These are easily crimped on and do not require special tooling. If you'd like, I'd be glad to do this for you and swap the harnesses. Just let me know! Either way you will have quick connectors and they will be weather tight.

Bout the same as I thought... We stock both DT and Weather Pack connectors because of this but we don't make/sell harnesses typically for customers. And what Jeff said, you can use the connectors that come with the Baja Designs. I'd recommend that route to ensure things get installed quicker. I can also make the harness for you if you want so that it's not on Jeff to do it (although I'd need you to send me your harness so I can put on the Weather Pack connectors), although that's very nice of him to offer. So either way you have some options. Just let us know what you want to do.

Thanks for this... You might want to make that an option moving forward for us "wiring is NOT my thing" guys :baby:

I have already started to modify my harness; haven't snipped yet, but exactly HOW do you crimp the connectors, without a crimping tool?

I at first thought I could just take apart the KC connectors and use those in the BD end...But they are not big enough for the BD lights... So it is SNIP TIME!

I do have some solder adhesive tubing, which I can use, but would prefer the connectors... so...do tell how to do it without the crimping tool!
