yup rear drive shaft. about a foot from the joint. few mm looks like it scraped a rock. no sharp corners looks like i just went over a bouler and scraped it.

You'll be ok, as long as there are no sharp edges. It won't cause a failure.

The only thing I can think of that might be an issue with a Raptor in deep snow (trail breaking) would be skid plates pushing/packing snow up under the truck and losing momentum and getting high centered.. I know.. I know worst case scenario.. I'll shut up..

that is one thing to watch for, and if you have enough speed and hit a deep pocket of snow, it will act as a ski type thing and lift the front end a bit. i was running into that problem yesterday with my ranger. hit some deep stuff and it lifted the front end and i lost steering momentarily

you hit the nail on the head. i have the same concerns. back in 1976 i had a f 100 4x4 with a brush guard on it with a skid plate. in deep snow it would pack the snow up under it and lift the truck. could not figure out why the truck would get stuck so often. took off the skid plate and problem fixed. but with so many trucks the ones in front will take the brunt of it and clear the way.

Who's bringing photo and video equipment? I'll have a nice camera with a few lenses (including a fish eye just for fun). I was thinking of grabbing a mount for my gopro for the dash as well.

This is going to be an epic trip. I've tailored my first mods specifically for this trip! can't wait
