I've got a '70 Super Bee 440 6-Pack, 4-Speed. It was originally a 383 Magnum Auto Trans. car. The 383 was tired, I still have it and the Auto, and I love it. Unless someone asks I don't advertise it as a clone but I couldn't love a true 440 6-Pack any more, unless I was trying to sell it, LOL. If you're buying muscle cars, be wary. Even the really sharp guys get fooled on occasion. In fact a few clones have gone through Barret Jackson as authentic, only to be revealed as clones later. Do your due diligence and contact a specialist if at all possible. And with the record keeping in the 60-70's they can't always be 100% positive on a car.
You're absolutely correct. In fact, unless you are buying them as an investment I would rather have a clone to drive and enjoy on weekends, to shows and out for dinner.
I kept a page of the last few cars I had. Of course, they are all gone now. But notice the 62 413 in the top row. Talk about a sleeper! That is a factory car and one of only 50 built and was one of my all time favorites. Another favorite was the Cadmaro. Check them out at here..
