Hey everyone - title says it all! Close to pulling the trigger on a southern (no rust) owned ‘13 SCAB for $15K.

Kicker is it has 250k miles so I’m asking the community if it’s worth it - or things to look out for. It’s encouraging to see some in this community with well over 400k miles.

Carfax is a dream - single owner - 71 records of on the maintenance - all maintenance done at Ford - shocks rebuilt, front end replaced, and transmission replaced <10k miles ago.

Shoot me your straight takes in thread.

Hello fellow ATLien

I like the maintenance records.

I would be concerned with rust from the move up north. Cab corners and rockers especially
ATL in the house! The snow is what finally made me want to pull the trigger here lol. Not that was anything serious haha.

Thanks for the pointers. It’s a Florida vehicle I’m thinking these are all HW miles - the owner had 25-40k miles a year.

Welcome to FRF

I wouldn’t buy it sight unseen, but the price is attractive. At this mileage, everything is going to be kind of tired. Suspension, bushings, bearings, motor, trans, differentials, transfer case are all suspect. They could be good for another 250k, or 250 miles. Get a good test drive and like Murder She Wrote says, check diligently for rust on the likely spots.

Anyway, not for nothing, but it’s been almost 40 minutes and you don’t have pictures of this truck uploaded yet?
Hurry up, we want to see what she looks like.

If body and interior are solid , i would buy it . But i would consider rebuilding engine , as 6.2's are hard to come by do a rebuild before a failure . No matter how well its taken care of everything mechanical eventually wears out .
