GEN 2 Wiring Upfitter switches

I think I've got it all now. For the record, I was calling the Aux switch wires the battery wires, since that's what they are closest to. I was making the mistake of calling the pass-thru wires the aux switch wires. I thought you'd have to splice those along with the hot wire from the light to make it work.

But really, I would only splice a wire together for pass-through if I was plugging an interior item into the fuse box hidden under the glove box. So, if I wanted Aux 6 to work for an interior item, I'd splice the colors together from Aux switch (battery) to pass-thru wire, and then hook up the interior accessory to the fuse box inside.

But for exterior items, you leave the pass through bundle alone entirely, as it isn't needed. Do I finally have it?

Thanks for clarifying for me. Hopefully someone else gets usefulness out of this too.

You don't need a wire from the battery. The Aux switch wires are hot. They have 12VDC and are fused. The wire under the hood for the aux switch connects directly to the (+) lead for your lights. I simply chose to connect the (+) lead from my lights using a weather pack connector as opposed to soldering or crimp connectors. This allows them to easily be unplugged. I then added the same type of connector to the aux switch wires that are not currently in use and used a plug inside the other end of the connector to protect them until I need to use them. Then all I have to do is unplug the connector and replace the plug inside with the wire from my new light and reconnect it.

Dang... I love this place. It is such a wonderful place to expand one's knowledge on everything Raptor!

There's no additional fuse box involved when using a pass through wire. Once you splice the pass through wire to the corresponding colored aux wire and find the wire in the bundle under the passenger side, it's hot (switched) and can be wired to your accessory inside the cab (with appropriate grounding).

Hi to all!
I'm new, just received truck trying to use Aux wires, but there is no any power. Checked fuse and relay box: there is power on switch on Aux and power on fuse. But no power on the end of wires. Unfortunately out service coverage for US Truck.

Are you checking the right bundle of wires? There are two. The bundle you want is closest to the passenger side. There are pics on the lighting forum and the electronics forum.

Yes, checked. Checked even wires loop on the passenger side inside cabin. But no power :((.

I have the opposite issue; powered wires, but no pass thru bundle. Have the dealer find it for you at first or next service.

Dumb question, but how are you checking the wires to determine if there is no power? Are you using a volt meter? Is the switch on?

There is a bulkhead on the passenger side of the firewall. When facing the firewall, the powered wires are to the left of the bulkhead and the pass through are on the right. They are folded back and wrapped into the loom.
