I was just checking this dude out this morning. Not a bad price at $130.... I think I'm going to give it a try.

Thanks for pointing this out. Just ordered it. After having wireless car play on a aftermarket head unit in a different car it has been annoying to go back to wired.

Have you received it yet? If so, how'd it work for you?

Here's an update from my end....

I almost bought the CPLAY2AIR dongle based on all the great reviews on their website, but then I realized something odd. If you notice, they have over 2,800 reviews - but no reviews less than 3 stars - I thought this was very odd considering the overall number of reviews. In fact, I found this to be impossible. How could no one rate their product 1 or 2 stars? Well, CPLAY2AIR chooses which reviews they post.

So I decided to do to a little experiment. I posted a 5 star review under one email address and posted a 1 star review under another email address. Of course, both were fictitious as I never purchased this thing. Guess which one they posted and guess which one they didn't post. Yep... almost instantly, my 5 star review posted, but it's been well over a week now and no sign of my 1 star review. And by the way - the one star review said "Didn't work with my car". It's not like I bashed the product as a whole, just that it didn't work with my car.

I ended up looking at reviews on YouTube and found a lot of unsatisfied buyers, so I didn't buy it. Had CPLAY2AIR actually had some 1 and 2 star reviews, I probably would have purchased one, but because they partake in this shady practice, they will never get my money.

Just do your research before buying. This thing doesnt work on every vehicle and it definitely has it flaws as many have reported on their YouTube reviews.

Interesting...I haven’t gotten it yet. I’ll post here when/if it arrives.

I have one, and it works 95% "every time" i get in. I installed a usb power disconnect switch to shut it off and on easily in those 5% times it won't connect. My main grip is the delay in sound compared to the cable connections. Makes some phone calls little harder because I find myself and the caller talking over each other. Music delay isn't an issue unless I watch a video and the voice/picture isn't synced. I have a QI charger mounted to the dash so battery issue isn't an issue and I love the quick in and out not having a cable to plug in. Just toss phone on magnetic QI and get rolling. 4 out of 5 stars.

i received it and have used it for a few times. So far it is working with no complaints. It takes a few seconds to start up when first starting your car.

Exactly why I didn’t get one, this company is known to be shady if you do your research.

I just routed a lightning cable from the USB ports under the AC controls, through the center console, into the storage area. It has enough slack to come out the cord slots and I plug my phone in that slot between the shifter and cup holders every time I drive.

The convenience of always having a full charge is actually why I don’t have any desire for wireless CarPlay anymore. Plus for those random things CarPlay blocks you from doing while driving, my phone is right there.
