Can anyone tell me if there is a real alternative to use apple CarPlay wireless. Since we have to use it connected it has a diversity of problems. For once, the volume control sometimes doesn't function.
It sucks big time !!!!!!!!!!

I use this. It works great in the Raptor.

toggle your Audio source button once or twice, usually corrects the audio back to bluetooth (which as the better audio/sound) instead of trying to send the audio thru the USB port.

I have only had my Raptor for a little less than two weeks. I have had apple car play just stop playing in the middle of a song. The only way to get it to play again is from my phone !!! Also experienced the volume issue. The most frustrating thing is if I plug my phone in sometimes it won’t even bring up Apple car play. I matter what I do. Then the next time I get in and plug it in it works fine !!!

Apple Carplay implementation is troublesome across many brands. My BMW sometimes refuses to connect to my phone after being connected that drive to my spouse's phone. My Porsche sometimes goes silent went trying to launch my Podcast app. I've had to reset my Ford on more than one occasion - was able to reproduce the problem when connected to the house WiFi and Carplay simultaneously. I manually upgraded to Sync v3.4 21200 (if memory serves me correctly) and it works much better. Confirm you have the latest iOS version on your I devices as a start.

Apple Carplay is very sensitive to cable length and quality. I use the shortest cable that I can use (never more than 3 feet) and I make sure it’s an Apple MFI certified or Apple original cable. I also don’t mess with the phone while it’s connected since I know the cable is so sensitive. I have had zero issue connecting to the Raptor or my 2017 Mercedes via wire.

Ever since I switched to Wireless Carplay via the dongle above, I can hold the phone while connected to Carplay. If I need to charge it, I charge it via a USB-C (high speed charger) cigarette lighter plug in the armrest.

@traxem Definitely agree with the wisdom regarding cable quality. I stopped using Apple cables as I've had bad luck with them on the Raptor. Anker brand, from Amazon, have served me well. My BMW is wireless carplay and it spoiled me. I'll look to the wireless carplay dongle for the Raptor.
