Super Swampers. Lots of tread and they sound like a Japanese Zero going down the road.

Yep. That aint no shit. My neighbor's got some some and I dive for cover when he's coming by my place.

I'm looking for some winter tires and so far what I've come up with are Goodyear Duratracs and General Grabber AT 2.

These will be dedicated winter tires. I do a lot of winter highway driving on icy snowy roads.

Both tires get great reviews.

I like how the goodyears look better but the generals are cheaper.

Any insight please let me know. Also if there's a tire I'm overlooking please tell me!

Thanks

Between the two you listed, go with the Goodyears.

Winter Tires

Checkout the Cooper Discoverer - I've had really good luck w/ them.
Reasonable price. Great in New England weather been running on them for about 5 years.

Are the Coopers a winter tire though?

By law in my parts if you travel the mountain pass highways a guy has to have snowflakes on the side of his tires or tire chains.

I was actually just talking to a co worker that uses the duratracs and he says they aren't good at all on ice making this even more clear as mud for me.

No tire is "great" on ice, but you have the ability to stud the Duratracs

The Generals are able to be studded as well.

Guys with the Duratracs how do you find the tread life? The Generals get glowing reviews on tread life.

Have you considered the Bridgestone Blizzaks? We run them on our full size Bronco and Land Rover Defender, and they give really good service for us.
