yeah, it's called a disclaimer bro. In the unlikely, but possible, chance that happens.

you know, like with every other place that does that type of work.

The only thing is, if you know what you're doing for a chip repair, there is no disclaimer needed. My buddies shop never told anybody something like that. He would look at it and know if it's a safe repair to do, or not. It's a liquid pulled in with vacuum and UV cured. Not a risky operation unless you don't know what you're doing.

Don't agree. Shit happens. And the best repair "tech" could have an issue.

I know what the process is. And the fact is the vacuum could make the crack a little bit bigger no matter who is doing it.

Bottom line, anyone getting this done anywhere has the risk of shit going sideways a little bit.
Having said that you probably won't know that until it's too late.

But what are you going to do?

Theres a few choices:

1. replace the entire windshield
2. Leave it as is
3. Try to stop the crack/chip in it's tracks by filling and live with the result.

Choose your poison

Did option 3 myself about 5 months ago.

I didn't say nothing could ever go wrong. I just said that a good shop that I'm very familiar with never had any need for a disclaimer and they did chip repairs a lot. He could tell by looking at it if it was a safe repair to do, or not. If it didn't look safely repairable, he would tell the customer they should get a new windshield.

Am I the only one that seems to have a rock magnet as a windshield? I’ve never had a vehicle that gets this many rock chips. My other vehicles driven on the same roads don’t get chips anything like the Raptor.

No, Lucille takes the rocks on the hood, but once in a while a windshield impact happens. I had to replace the windshield, got OEM glass and cannot get whatever coating they had off of it.

Next time, I’m getting the gorilla glass. only a couple bills more.

I’m with you on the gorilla glass the next go around. Regret not going ahead and doing it this time.
