Trac bars.
or the torque arm.

there’s definitely a lot of play allowed on the Jen Too rear - front to back and up and down. the front to back deflection or axle wrap can unsettle it and if you’re not familiar with it, the symptom can be a weird feeling.

I have not noticed this with my current truck, a few years ago I had a F-150 Lariat. It did this every time a hit a bump at speed like described above. Ended up selling the truck for a Raptor. I also noticed this on occasion with my used Gen 2 I had, crappy leaf springs and over inflated tires didn't help. Something I noticed depending on the load range of tires is a few PSI one way or the other will make the ride much smoother. Especially Load Range E 37's, they can be very stiff.

I had the same experience with manhole covers on US1. Some would be slightly higher than pavement, some a couple inches lower. When the rear would hit them on one side, the truck’s rear would get unsettled. My torque arm helped this but did not get rid of it. I suspect traction bars and a couple common band aids like different leaf springs might mask the issue, but I can’t comment on those. To clarify- the front handles the bumps just fine. When the rear hits them it gets a little unsettled and then recovers.

I would definitely put eyes on the lug nuts, check tire pressures, and get some eyes underneath to check for anything obvious.
Checked the lug nuts good to go there, tire pressures COLD usually rest around 38-39 all around

warmed up 40-41, not sure if this is high for a warmed tire or are most guys aiming for cold 35-36 to a 38 when warmed up.

Shock rebuild if they haven’t been done. And Deaver rear leafs make these trucks planted.
I believe these are the original shocks with no rebuild or ever replaced.

Was thinking about having them rebuilt, but also just considering upgrading to Fox, Kings, & new leafs.
( Im still on the stock leafs )

which Deavers did you end u going with ?

I have the exact problem you are describing. Replaced my shocks. Only a very small improvement. I've ordered leaf springs as I'm on the original shit ones from the factory. I'm confident this is the issue for me, maybe it's the same for you if you're still on stock leaf springs.
this is my fear, as in what if its NOT the shocks - im still planning on upgrading but im hoping to the least amount of trial and error as possible. let me know if this fixes your problem lol . Did you rebuild the shocks or direct replacement ?

Do the Deaver (or any other AM) leaf springs make that much of a difference from factory ones if they are still in good shape (less than 8k miles)? I've been curious about the unsettled rear going over bumps around corners for a long time now and didn't know if anything could be done or if it was just a function of having a light ass.
from what I've read and heard, upgrading the leafs make the truck feel way different lol mine are probably sitting on 50k+ miles
