When I ordered mine back in August, I told the dealer I would prefer a later delivery, it was for two reasons. One being that I won't have cash in hand until Jan 1 2017 and two is that I wanted a later unit so Ford could shake out any possible defects. While I do WANT my new Raptor (this is number three for me) I am a patient person. My 2011 SCREW came missing its hood graphic and wound up having some driveline issues which included (as I recall) a slip yoke and driveshaft.

Nothing horrible, and also like @J.Bodolay the service experience was a positive one.

Also the fuel filler door was not Molten Orange clear coat, it was Race red, which had to be painted, and I was very worried about the match. All worked out fine.

I don't have a problem waiting fro this truck at all!

I do have a problem with Ford not telling us anything, if the truck is going to be built in March? Just tell us!! Communication goes a long way.

Here here, communication does go a long way. As a prospective owner I don't mind waiting. Just tell me what the problem is, tell me what the fix will be and an anticipated time to have the problem resolved. I am a reasonable individual, not a mushroom.

Well unfortunately Ford won't release the issue/issues if any. I've talked with a previous rep of our about this. If Ford mentions anything about a problem that gets out it snowballs into the media blowing it up to a huge issue. Also if Ford said maybe "well the Raptors are currently delayed for poor quality front bumpers". Then every owner once they got their truck would scrutinize the front bumper to the highest degree. Resulting in a certain number of owners complaining to their dealer that their front bumper was bad. When in all reality it is probably fine and they would never have noticed if they wouldn't have know there was an issue with them.

Our body shop is the perfect example. We have people who have owned a vehicle since new and never complained about something wrong with the paint. Then they have body work done and now all of a sudden they discover issues of mirrors don't match the car or bumpers don't match the car or now my car has orange peel. They discover this stuff in areas we didn't even work on.

The better communication would be appreciated, at least with giving us an update on the potential delay and the actual release date instead of this extremely vague "late fall" nonsense. As far as telling us the problem, yeah I understand why Ford's not doing that. From a business standpoint, telling the world that you have uncovered a problem with a product that hasn't been released yet, even if just advising owners carries too much risk. In the digital world we live in, one of the disgruntled owners would post that on social media, the press would catch wind, a press release would be posted saying Ford is already having issues with the Raptor, and no doubt it would hurt the outlook for potential customers (slippery slope at it's finest).

This is a Crappy Way to treat someone that is spending money on your product!

Not asking them what's wrong! Asking them to let us know what are build dates are! A lot of us don't have build dates, if its December let me know, if its March let me know, if its August? Well then communicate and let me know!!!! This no info thing doesn't work for me! :supergay:

Ford's BS and Marketing is just causing people to buy different trucks.

Think about it, if we all did our jobs the way Ford is handling this truck it would be chaos everywhere!

Plus I am jealous because at least Ford is giving you bad dates!

A lot of us are getting no dates at all!

Has Ford officially announced a release/delivery date? Bad marketing? Quite the opposite. Ford has sold a new vehicle that the public is yet to lay hands on. Sounds to me like the marketing department has done a fabulous job. Who buys a vehicle they have never driven? Many were sold before the engine specs were published. Who does that? Sounds like a very successful plan.

My truck got pushed back twice now. Again not uncommon for a new model build.

What you guys don't realize is that this is normal in the auto industry. This time it just happens to be the vehicle you want so you're experiencing it first hand.

No date at all just means that your dealers allocation hasn't gotten far enough for your truck to get scheduled. nothing will change with that.
