It is just a **** Poor Process!

My truck got pushed back twice now. Again not uncommon for a new model build.

What you guys don't realize is that this is normal in the auto industry. This time it just happens to be the vehicle you want so you're experiencing it first hand.

No we realize it, but it doesn't make it right!

No date at all just means that your dealers allocation hasn't gotten far enough for your truck to get scheduled. nothing will change with that.

I don't think you get what i'm saying at all! I understand the allocation process! It is just a **** Poor Process!

I think I understand what you're trying to say. There are many reasons why its just not feasible to schedule every unit for the entire year at the beginning of the year. There are so many factors that cause production to be affected that they have to adjust allocation and scheduling accordingly as the production year moves along. The single biggest issue with that is parts supply. They do forecasting at the beginning of the year but don't have any exact way to determine exactly what options people will be ordering until the orders are placed. Depending on how well a supplier can keep up with demand will depend on how much that may affect production. Those are just a few of the reasons why they can't determine at the beginning of the year when a dealers allocation will get built.

My truck is a perfect example. It's been bumped back twice now and that's only one unit. That would be the beginning of throwing the entire schedule off.

Thanks 03'Darin, you always seem to be able to calm me down a bit. I do have a question for you since you seem to be as close to the Yoda of this forum as one can get. How is it that an order placed after mine from a dealership that had fewer allocations (presumably a smaller volume dealer) can get pulled months ahead of mine? I ordered on July 26, been clean unscheduled since early August and no carbon fiber on mine. I'm the second of 4 allocations for my dealer. I don't think even the first allocation from my dealer has been pulled yet. Yet I'm reading on this forum that some who've ordered as recently as 11/2 have been pulled and that some ordered from dealers with fewer allocations have been pulled relatively quickly. Does geography play a role (there seems to be conflicting statements on this)? Anyway, just thought I'd ask you. I know I'll eventually get my truck. I'm just being a spoiled brat about it by being so impatient.
