My guess that the factory stock BFG KO2's are engineered for less rolling resistence to get better MPG = less traction. Any more agressive tread tire that you put on the Raptor will drop City MPG by 1 to 2 MPG.

Forgot about this, yes, this is very likely too.

I understood the KO2 - at least the Raptor iteration, to be lighter than other competing tires and I thought I saw somewhere on FRF where the e rated KO2 was heavier.

I think the sidewall construction may be different too.

I have had issues with the tires as well. The BFGs are garbage in my experience. Never had a set (and I have had at least a dozen) that haven’t been disappointing. At 16k miles, with no suspension mods and rotations Every 4K miles, I needed new tires because they were cupping and feathering. Disgusting. I’ll get Toyos next, they have warranties and I’ve never had issues with them

Ford choose them for road ride quality and fuel efficiency, as they are just barely serviceable for offroad use. I got 27k out of mine, and 38 miles at the track chunked them so as to ruin them. My new Cooper ST Maxxes are so much better in just about every category. Tiny bit less mpg and a bit heavier, but way more traction in every condition.

The toyos are good so I hear, but are really heavy, so keep that in mind. I decided against both Toyo and Nitto for that reason.

Man, I'm convinced I got a good one. Yeah, the sunroof rattles but that's about it after 18k miles in 7 months of ownership and it is off-road weekly so it has not been babied (gets a weekly bath at the touchless car wash).

59k miles

just made an appointment for a SECOND IWE line replacement. I guess it matches my SECOND plastic oil pan replacement.

She makes it about 20-30k miles before she needs some sort of repair....

As a potential Raptor buyer I have been surfing this forum for nearly a year now. I would be moving up from a Tacoma to a Raptor SCAB, the coolest 1/2 pickup truck on the planet. I noticed that selling prices are falling and they are now selling well under MSRP.

I am curious if Ford has engineered out some of the '17-'19 problem areas on the 2020's such as cam phasers, etc.

-flat black exhaust tips started coming off at like 10k miles, completely gone on the passenger side now.
-red stripe on steering wheel wearing like shit
-gloss black b pillars scratched up after the first wash, toast after a few washes, they are wrapped now cause they were that bad
-paint sucks balls and scratches easily
-tires toast after 26k miles
-leaky oil pan from day 1

This bitch is disposable
My tips started to look like shit after few months.... seriously garbage. The truck tho is nice.... besides tips. Got mine switched to Borla.

We were informed by someone supposedly in the know, cam phasers were replaced with a new part back in 4/19 by Ford. Any new trucks built after should have the new design. However that is not a lot of time from then to now and mileage wise to know if it’s truly a good fix. This issue did not affect most trucks, and mileage varied. So time will tell as ‘19s get more miles on them. Or if someone had there’s replaced since that date.

I've done IWE x 2 as well and most recently entire hub assemblies on both sides. I have had the oil pan x 1. The transmission pan x 1 and new transmission at 9,000 miles x 1. I have 55,000 miles and just had the timing chain cover sealant replaced due to a oil leak I noticed when changing my own oil. TSB for doors not shutting in the winter x 2 too.
