Why does everyone hate the B&O stereo?

I was reading this thinking, "Who the hell vacations in a ******** like Camden NJ!!!!" I didn't know there was a Camden Maine, I just Googled it.

Yup, lousy place. Don't visit.

It does look better when a big ol' Caddy is rolling through town.

well... You do make a credible point. I think it’s that some suck in different ways.
Underpowered.
strangely altered signal
poor mixing

The Rap has all of these symptoms.

Every car & truck I’ve had needed more bass and speakers have never been on par with even the least expensive aftermarket alternative.
The poor mixing is what really makes it sub par for me. As others have alluded to, if you don’t push the stereo hard or always have passengers, it will be fine stock. If you ever turn the volume up over half, or you actually listen to music for enjoyment, you’ll be underwhelmed.

My wife’s peasant car is way underpowered, but at least it cleanly reproduces sound.

I agree. I think that I’m not as disappointed with it because I mainly listen to Podcasts. But when I do listen to music, the disappointment is definitely there.

We have an '18 with the bose, I honestly can't say if the stereo is any good, I never want to drive it. The Raptor is the "family" vehicle.
The Raptor is more refined in every way, to me. Escalade heads up display is kind of neat though.

The Escalade is a Tahoe underneath the Caddy badging (no offense) at the end of the day. Perfectly understandable why you’re not impressed with it.

one of those fancy signal convertors, and a traxx intercom with $1500 per headsets.

I'm going the cheap route because I don't need HD audio for old country music and my codriver chatters like a woodpecker on ******* anyway. ( which is one of PCI's intercoms with dsp and bluetooth.)

The Traxx system is a huge improvement over the previous Elite system.Yes Its more expensive with benefits though, the quality and how high you can raise the volume makes a big difference to me when driving.

The experience I had was in a UTV, so in your case it might be a bit quieter.

I would also recommend trying both setup's before pulling the trigger, if you haven't yet.

I've driven a Tahoe and the Platinum ain't no Tahoe, that's for sure.
