If you're worried about your speedo being off after doing 37's just go for a drive with a GPS on and see what it says your speed is at normal highway speeds around you. Mine ended up 1mph fast. I can live with that.

No, I was making a joke initially. My speedometer actually read way closer to accurate with the 37s. Rms8 has other opinions on the matter though.

If I can run 37's without having to make any modifications to prevent rubbing, I am in. Is that possible?

Jeff, I had to do some trimming and knock down some welds to avoid rubbing on my Gen. 1.

I am watching the Gen 2. forum for answers on similar questions.

Hopefully these guys notice this post now and aren't so worried about a calibration issues. :supergay:

If your speedometer is off, isn't your odometer off as well. I'd be curious if you showed up at a Ford dealer for warranty issues with 37" tires and 35,999 miles on your odometer if they'd make a big deal about your odometer being off due to larger tires. I would suspect that by not calibrating the truck's speedometer for bigger tires, it could potentially affect your warranty coverage.

Not that I'd care, but something to think about.

It's a good question. I've wondered myself but I don't know how much difference it'd make. That'd have to be a pretty **** Ford dealer to check tire size I'd think.

^If someone at the dealer actually noticed this and thought it would save them a penny, they'd do it.

I doubt most dealerships are that savvy to even catch it. Dealerships make money doing warranty work, right? Do dealerships save money denying claims or does Ford save money? I'd think the only thing a dealership saves is the liability of trying to make a bad warranty claim.
I'm sure Charlie can provide some insight. @Raptizzle
