White styrofoam in side vent?

Just noticed some white styrofoam in the drivers side vent. Went to retrieve it but it feel further down the fender and could not reach it. Do not see anything like it on the passenger side.

Could this be something the dealer was suppose to remove? Anyone have tips on how to reach it?

Pretty sure it's supposed to be there- mine had it too.
No idea of its purpose!!!

The air box draws air from the front section of the fender. The rear section is were the heat, from the engine, is extracted. The styrofoam seperates these two sections.

Well mine clearly is no longer in the correct location since it fell. Where is it suppose to sit? Anyone got pics?
