Factory Bed Extender

Just called the Bak Flip factory and they tell me that the hardware does not allow the factory installed bed extender to rotate out, whew, with all the great reviews I almost went out and bought one.

whew I was scared there for a second. I used my bed extender all the time on my HD truck and didn't want to have to lose it to use the F1 that I already have.

I wonder if that guy on that other link installed the rails backwards, if thats even possible???

I thought that too but if you read his posting he says his has drains both in the front and the back.. I've never seen that so I have no idea what he's talking about. If he had his installed backward, you'd see the plates where the screw connects to hold the cover on to the rails..

Maybe he's as confused as I am.. lol

Shopping around I've found the G2 for as low as $678 with free shipping from Bakflip Factory outlet

Paragon is ONLY available from the manufacturer for $599 with free shipping..Downside of this cover is that it needs to be drilled and its not totally Waterproof.

So..what you guys think? 678 a good price for the cover? Leaning more towards the G2.

Bak tried the front and rear drain approach on the OEM model for a very short time. They abandoned that approach after just a short time. He must have gotten those rails.

Are you talking about the factory option shown here in my Raptor?

If so there is no issue with rotating it out onto the opened tailgate as long as you flip up the Bakflip cover out of the way.

There's no way the hardware of the Bakflip is in the way or blocks it. Note that the Bakflips that I have and have seen do not have the drains at the back of the truck (like BigJ's pic). You can see one of the two drain tubes in the front right of the pic (below).

The BakFlip can be folded down, snap-locked in place
with tailgate extended or flip to inside.
You only need to flip open the Bakflip to swing tailgate extension.
Then, either lock the BakFlip open or snap it closed.

Hi Morrie, What model bak flip is the $669 for? What do you charge for the HD shipped?
