Use to run Royal Purple until some years back when the only local place stopped carrying it. Switched to Mobil 1 and it's been working well sense. Run either the Motorcraft filters or FRPP version.

RP is available locally again, but the prices are insane! I can get M1 for $25 - $27 a 5qt jug and, last I checked, RP is around $9 a qt!

I use to run royal purple in my 66 mustang and in the raptor for a few months then I tried amsoil in the mustang (boss 303 engine) and it was smother and a little quieter than the royal purple so I started using it in the raptor and the amsoil filter.

I use the Ford Motorcraft synthetic and Ford filter to be on the safe side while its under warranty.
Ford actually sent me something in the mail saying my new Ford would need a Ford filter for warranty reasons but never mentioned the oil.

That's BS, they can't make you use a Motorcraft filter for warranty.

Seems like alot of people are running the Mobil 1. I am going to compare prices between Amsoil, Mobil 1, and RedLine and go from there.....

Hey I got something in the mail, not gonna take a chance, thats the only thing that they have ever spelled out to me this clearly that would void my warranty.

I talked to my dealer and asked if I could use my oil with their filter if that would avoid any warranty. He assured me No Does not void any warranty.
