Dude - just thought I'd throw another idea out there. I too was debating using the bumper slot for a 20" vs say a 40" behind the grill. My conclusion was to use the slot due to loss of light behind the grill. With that said I was looking heavily at the VisionX extreme emitter as it seems to be the bomb and all that, bright as hell, possibly the brightest bar out there in its size. After much discussion with the guys at my local shop, more research, reading racedezert, etc., I ended up getting a Baja Designs, Onx6, in 20" for the slot. The difference in the BD vs most bars is that its got one row of emitters but a larger and much deeper reflector design for each cell which results in further throw. More info here: OnX6, 20" Driving/Combo LED Light Bar Mounted using slightly modified SDHQ bracket and BD feet. I've also got BD squadrons in the bumper corner pockets for cornering and fog lights. I'm quite happy with the result and coverage. Eventually I will get a build thread up and show some pics...

Thanks for the heads up, but I already ordered the Vision x extreme 21"! I'll look at the specs of the BD, do you have any pics?

I also want to take time and say out loud that James from Alternative Offroad is impressive in the customer service department.... 5stars, 2 Thumbs up, 100% green tomatoes , and Fandango approved!

This was the route I was going to go as well. This particular bar is bright, but does the best at focussing the light to throw it further forward.
