Which ACC bracket and why? SVC / ADD / Bajamod

Asking in the exterior section because it's more so related to bumpers...

I haven't seen anything out there comparing the brackets, just a rare horror story here and there about ACC never working again with a relocation bracket but it doesn't seem to favor any particular bracket. I'm assuming that's just a recalibration issue thought and not really the bracket brand's fault.

Anyways, curious which one is best and why? Have you had any issues I should think ahead about? I feel like this is one of those things where it's just simply a great product if you never had an issue with it and it did it's job. I'm about to pull the trigger on an SVC IC and figured I'd just relocate the ACC pre-emptively while that goes in rather than waiting for the bumper.

My initial desire is SVC due to it ideally being a good match with the SVC IC, and being OCD I like that it's centered. Although my initial thought there is if there's any issue with SVC relocating it farthest away from the stock position? Bajamod is obviously closest to stock. Meanwhile, I'm likely going with an ADD bumper in the end (Stealth Fighter) since I want a winch. That is up for a future change of heart though, who knows.

i have brackets from rogue, nfab, cobb and add
have the cobb installed right now, throws false warnings sometimes, other times it gets disabled.
but i think i will eventually install the add bracket

definitely need a bracket with some adjustments. otherwise its going to be hard to align.

Well now I'm just curious, why have you had 4 different ones?
Did you get the Cobb calibrated?

I would think that a non-adjustable one would actually be preferable because you can set it, get it calibrated, and forget it. Adjustable in my mind just means more moving parts and the potential for it to get uncalibrated.

Currently have the ADD Stealth Fighter front bumper without winch and the ADD ACC relocation bracket with stock IC.

ACC still functions with some false collision warnings/car detection when passing large semis on the right but it saved me from a collision recently so it definitely still works as it should. Probably could get rid of the false alarms by shifting it to the left but it was such a pain to install that I haven’t messed with it more. I also think people have issues with their ACC not working because they either dropped it (ACC unit clearly states on it to not use if dropped) or, as I was instructed, not give any power to the vehicle prior to hooking up the ACC. Not sure the reasoning behind the second one but took the advice and it works.

As mentioned earlier, ADD relocation was an absolute pain to install with stock IC. The ACC wire was MUCH shorter than the instructions showed so I had to cut and move a bunch of wiring just to get enough slack to plug in. Secondly, the bracket flexed as I tightened it down so I had to add extra washers to make it work.

I just mounted it and let it be. I was told the process to recalibrate is a PITA.

The wires for the ACC and the unit itself are behind the lower plastic portion of the bumper, right above the driver side tow hook.

I had the RPG one and it wasn’t functional. I ended up buying the ADD one. Install wasn’t too bad but the wire is too short. I ended up cutting it and splicing in about 18 inches. Then I was able to route it in the middle of the grill and hide the cable. I left it in the middle position as recommended in the instructions and haven’t moved it. Prior to that I had it ziptied to the front of the grill. My ACC stopped working months ago and thought it was broken. Even normal cruise control stopped working.

I had no desire for ForScan but heard you can calibrate the ACC with it, so I bought the adapter and proceeded. Put it in calibration mode and drove on the straightest roads I could find. I drove about 15 miles and it would not calibrate. I ended driving for about 25-30 miles and it finally calibrated and everything started to work again, including having cruise control back.

Had no issues except one time I was driving about 60mph in a lane where both lanes on each side was stopped and the pre-collision assistance warning popped up but no brake was applied by the system, so not sure what happened there.

I would recommend the ADD to anyone. Pricey though but they put some thought into it

Calibrating consists of making sure it points straight ahead. I’m go to install Krazy house bumper soon and will relocate it again. I think the biggest thing it to get it to point straight ahead and the more centered the better IMO. Oh get thing to look out for that no one talks about is that the Intercooler is blocking my radiator and now in hot climates I have seen son very high temps if I hold it to the floor (like 247). I think it’s kinda ******. If your going FMIC I strongly advise to upgrade the radiator. I have it sitting here ready to go in with the bumper. Just my .02¢

my body shop calibrated it. worked well.. the ford uncalibrated it lol when i had it in for service.

oem location isn't centered, its to one side
