Hi gents

Purchased a torque wrench and breaker bar to maintain my lug nuts.

A 21mm socket was too small.
A 22mm was snug.

I checked all the lug nuts.

All 22mm.

I thought the raptor was 21mm?

The tires I changed were stock.
44th week of 2016.

And fairly certain that in the 4 services since 2017 the tires were never rotated.

So who'd go out of their way to swap my 21mm nuts for 22mm?
Bewildering.

Side note:

When I wrench on the lug nuts, the socket rotates almost 120° before I feel resistance & the nut actually starts loosening.

Very weird sensation because I'm fairly certain the 22mm socket is snug over the lug nut and the nut isn't rotating.

I'll take a video in daylight.

Any idea on the 22mm and ghost wrenching?

Thanks guys

These lug nuts have a beauty shell that swells and distorts. You can see that they are doing this in that picture.

You're right, the bottom one on the right looks slimmer than the top ones.

So then I imagine the breaker bar in the spare wheel kit becomes useless at some point in the car's life?

Yes, it will.

I have another Ford vehicle that just recently had to get new lug nuts. The shells ripped off of each lug. The lug is then smaller than 21MM.
