Most advice is going to come from butt dynos which is good advice because you want people's opinions on it too. Having raw data is good and the best gains are good but that won't always tell you what to expect from the tune. I personally run the first version of a 93 performance tune from 5 star and love it. The shifting can be hard and it does want to stay in lower gears but that doesn't bother me because I like to drive hard. The second version from 5 star is supposed to be more street friendly with smoother shift points. The SVC tune is also similar in its smoothness.

5* Daily Street Tunes. I don't believe you will get a finer tune, especially for the money! A 5* 93 Perfermance tune is not a good comparison to the SVC. Performance tune is very aggressive! The Daily Street tunes are comparable. A 5* Performance tune is more of a Race Tune. I recently tried a 93 Performance Tune and it will flat out run away from my 93 Daily Street tune and that says a lot being my Daily Street tune is strong. Performance Tune will shift and downshift much harder and hold gears longer. Holds the gear that will keep you in your power band the best. Went back to my Daily Street because I need my 4th and 5th gear to come in sooner on some of the roads I drive daily with 40mph speed limits. Unbelievable performance though from the 93 Performance tune. Truck comes off the line very strong, kicks down instantly when you need to and really accelerates strong. Like the fact also that 5* has their own in house dyno.

I would agree with your statement to a certain extent. During daily driving in city or crusing down the highway our tune is comparable to a "street" tune. Under high demand WOT it is comparable to any competitors high performance tune. There is no need to constantly change tunes depending on how you feel like driving with the SVC tune. It's there when you want it or need and not constantly in your face. Shifts are smooth and crisp under any conditions. When you start to play with harsh downshifts you begin to increase transmission temperature which in terms leads to failure over time. Gears will be held depending on demand with our tune . For example under WOT any SVC tuned truck will hit about 97-100mph in 3rd gear and hit 4th smooth and continue to pull. Until you can personally try both tunes a comparison is hard to be made.

Our calibrator has an in house dynojet just like you would find at ford or any other OEM manufacturers .

If you ever willing to do a comparison yourself I would love to set something up.

Jeff , PM me and I will give you my phone # to discuss a comparison as I would do it very honestly. I'm sure you have seen my thread on 5* tunes (all octane levels) that I have evaluated in both of our 2014 Raptors and gave very good feedback to Jacob at 5•. All of 5* tunes are calibrated within Ford's safe limits.

I'd have to say I've tried both SVC and 5* including the street tunes at all octane levels. And while I felt that 5* street tunes were a vast improvement over their traditional tunes, I still went back to SVCs. The tune is just an all encompassing tune that doesn't leave you wanting more...shifting is spot on, acceleration awesome and it doesn't feel forced. And while the street tunes had a similar feel, I still felt that SVC had a solid edge over 5*. Not saying they are bad tunes just not my preference. And with v3.0 coming, I'm sure it'll be that much more impressive.

That is the way our 5* tunes are in both Raptors. They are spot on and flawless! I'm sure you have seen how many 5* tunes that I have now evaluated and none of them have required any revisions in either truck with or without CAI.

Just remember that without motor work there is only so much performance your going to get out of a tune no matter how much it is revised or how good it is. I disagree with you that it doesn't leave you wanting more. Everyone always wants more, thats why you are looking forward to V3 but there is a theoretical limit to a stock motor! I do this every day on Motorcycles. All that matters in the end is if your satisfied how your vehicle runs with the tune you prefer.

I can guarntee you we pulled a bit more out of it and have the dyno charts to back it up. Once we get everything squared away we will launch it. I guess when your tuner has an in house dynojet you can tinker with certain filters and setups on your down time and see what does and doesn't work

That is the purpose of a dyno! I do it everyday on my Dynojet Dyno! Just keep in mind that a dyno printout is at WOT where none of us spend most of our time on the street in a 6000 lb truck. Peak numbers are nice but area under the curve is important as well as throttle positions other than 100% WOT. Again, there is a theoretical limit on stock motor no matter how good the tune. It's not like every revision is going to give another 10 RWHP over the previous version. You would never feel a 10 hp difference on a 6000lb truck anyway. Not even on a 3500lb car. Now 10 hp gain on a motorcycle will get your attention! These trucks have been around long enough now that parameters and tunes should be figured out. When I send out a bike dyno tuned it is spot on and requires no revisions unless there are other modifications done after my tune.
