By the way I am not bothered by this thread actually thankful for reading it . My raptor is bone stock. the IC seems like a good way for more easy HP without other mods

FWIW I didn't notice any increased horsepower. I did it primarily to prevent heat soak in certain situations. Generally I don't think the IC alone will yield a noticeable difference in most situations.

Just curious about your 71 degree t-stat comment. I have a 170 degree t-stat along with colder spark plugs and a whole lot of other mods, but I have never heard of a 71.

I wanted a better approach angle, so I did a custom frame horn cut bumper and the Full Race IC which requires shutter removal. As others have said, my build shop did not recommend a water / coolant mix due to corrosion issues, so I went with the normal coolant.
#171 degree t stat..lol..

I play motorcycle mechanic shop owner during the day..Google Seaside Superbikes..We run straight distilled water and water wetter in the race bikes. The coolant must be changed on a 6 month max. With a cooling system refresh, 50/50, kinda like a reverse flush, opposite of what would be normal. Drain water/water wetter, fill with coolant, run hot, drain..Same thing with VP MR9 fuel in the fuel tank. The fuel is good for 15 to 25 percent more power but after each race must drain and fill with regular fuel. If not, you will be f..

Im sorry for my crazy ideas here, just playing around with a truck. I really got a lot of information from this forum, that's why I payed to play!

Unless someone tells me the Garrett is ****** im getting one tomorrow. They have been making quality diesel intercoolers for years, and I can't find any that seem to match Garrett as far as mounting, fit and finish, and quality, and size, and design...and bang for your buck, without removing the radiator shutters and causing extra heat transfer to Radiator and using the bad ass fans that are stock!

**** injection, nuff said.

I like the ****. It gives you a great high and causes you to tweak, steal, and loose all of your teeth...oh not that kind..haha..I am spraying the intercooler with Alcohol or water, I like this methanol idea, who makes it and where do I get it? I wonder how much power it takes to blow the rods out of the side of the motor??? 700hp or 900hp??? Then add nitrous on top or with...

a garret ic is over 5 inches deep so you may not clear the 2 downward bars that bolt into the steering Rack bolts

(AFE)BladeRunner GT Series Intercooler is every bit as good. Keeps the shutters. Mounts in stock location. Larger than stock without interfering with radiator cooling. Quality unit. I haven't run the other one you mention but I can testify to the ease of installation and the quality.

Garretts IC will require you to remove the stock shutters and shroud, doing that there will be nowno to guide the air threw the IC.

Look here,

The Garrett is BIGGER than the cpe, look at the end when there is nothing to guide the air , and you either need to make a custom shroud or hack the stock shroud.
