Is that an LS6 CTS-V?
Yessir 2005. I found it with 13K miles on it in 2012. It’s got about 58k now. B&B headers and Complimenting full X-pipe 3” exhaust with HPTuners adjustments. Hurst shifter and various mounts and bushings. Suspension and driveline is all stock.

It’s comfy, holds the road tight, and sounds like a dragon having sex When you get the rpms up (estimated). I hardly drive it but damn I love that car. It just makes you feel happy. It’s smooth but raw.

I have a C5Z so was interested....only other car they put that engine in. Special car really....I had a G8 GT which is kinda similar idea & pretty awesome in its own right but hold on to that 1st gen n/a CTS-v my guess is they’ll be worth some $$$ @ some point, esp a manual.

in terms of Recent GM unicorn cars that’s one of em, aLong w/

A G8 GXP w/ M6
A GTO, period pretty much
a CTS-V LS6
A CTS-v wagon (esp M6- holy grail type gearhead shit)
Cyclone
Typhoon
The Silverado SS
TBSS
Fiero
STS-v w/ the blown north Star V8 (extreme unicorn)

I could go on - I know this is a Ford forum but I feel it’s a general gearhead enthusiast forum too- ford has made some awesome stuff too over years (lightning obvi) I just am a nerd about the real “Easter egg” vehicles that the domestics In particular have made over the years

Too many toys not enough time to play. View attachment 148985View attachment 148986

Not a bad problem to have...but is a legit problem. I’m a big joe rogan fan- he says something similar all the time “I can’t add any more hobbies/interests I simply don’t have enough time” - wife/kids + work + raptor + quad + kayaks + Z06 + waverunners + hiking + fishing + working out + Cooking/grilling/smoking + what? That’s it- I’m running outta time/energy!!!!

I feel ya man. They made this one with the LS2 ‘truck motor’ for 06-07 too. The LS6 is a sweet little motor. 5.7 but the cam let it do what it did. They replaced it with a 6.0 and lost the revvy personality. It’s a weird feel for a pushrod motor but it’s cool as shit. All the first gens were manual. They didn’t have a V automatic until the second gen came out in 2009.

I got this one super low miles early and kept from f’ing with it over the years. It’s a special car. Also I got a great deal on the front end so it hasn’t lost a dime in the last 8 years. I also have nearly every stock piece I took off, just in case

funny note, on the same lot, the day I bought it from my friend at the caddy dealer, there was an STS-V sitting there for 4K more.

I owned one of these. It is the only vehicle I regret selling. Was a 2006 bought used in 2009. Triple Black. I remember that the stereo display had a "tilt" button to move the screen forward or backward. Suede inserts on leather bolster seats. Heated steering wheel. I had a lot of fun in that car. Sold it to a friend for $17.5k. Immediately regretted it, asked him to sell it back to me when he was done. He traded it in on a lease w/o letting me know....

And that, kids, is how I met your mother...
