She tried out a Cayenne S, GLE 450, Audi Q7 (by far the worst in this category if you want my take or hers) and I even got her to check out the Range Rover Sport, something that went against her “must be German” want in a car.

The X5 was the immediate and clear winner to both of us. Although she drove and wanted the 6 cyl version, I can proudly say that my persuasion skills are still sharp enough to have gotten her to go with a TT V8.

What’s crazy to me is that the Cayenne S costs almost $20k more then the X5 she got, and has a lot less power. I was expecting a lot more from Porsche.

Very interesting, I’m always curious to hear other ppl perspective in this segment. We drove a previous Gen X5M as that was my wife’s first pick and it didn’t have the interior room we had hoped for.... we then went on a test drive spree ....

X750i
Trackhawk
Range Rover SVR
Alfa stelvio quadrifoglio
Cayenne S coupe
GLE 63s coupe
Audi Q8

some we had over night and some just for an hr or so but in the end she fell for the Q8. He only complaint was power so later she got a wiestec tune on it.

If it would’ve been my choice it would’ve been the cayenne . I fell for that thing hard and would have had no problem paying the premium

There was a switch that came with the lights. The switch is mounted just under the bed rail by the tailgate. In this picture you can see the switch just above the factory bed light switch.

You know, I wish they had mounted the factory bed light switch under the rail or something easy to find, not out in the middle of space with no reference points. I always have to sausage finger around for it. Pet peeve.

Agree 100% with this. I think that Ford could have made the bed lights come in when the tailgate is opened as well, that would have made sense to me.

It’s nearly impossible to find with the bed extender/divider too.
