Magic erasers are an abrasive. You didn’t remove the oil, you roughed up the surface and likely made it more absorbent. So, maybe I'm just a total noob but I thought that a shiny steering wheel (which I can't f'ng stand) was from wear. WRONG. It's from all the oils soaked up from our hands. Anyway, I just discovered that using a MAGIC ERASER on the wheel restores that beootch to looking brand new factory fresh matte again! Only takes about 10 mins - get a small bucket of water, submerge magic eraser, wring it out, begin lightly scrubbing your wheel. Periodically wipe clean with paper towels or a cloth. I'm so stoked about this it almost deserves it's own thread.

and done!
Whatever it did, it's back to looking factory. And it did remove oils and dirt, you should have seen the water in the bucket after. Filthy.Magic erasers are an abrasive. You didn’t remove the oil, you roughed up the surface and likely made it more absorbent.
