What did you do to your Gen 3 today?

So glad I ended up with a '21. Ford and their pencil neck geek penny pinchers. The Raptor is supposed to be the best of the best and they keep pulling goodies off of it. I get it, supply shortages during covid but that excuse doesn't fly now. I can think of several things that should have been included such as an on board air compressor like the upper GM models have. The ability to change the ambiant lighting color. Fender flairs that don't peel, and all the while constant price increases totaling about an extra $16000 over the 21.

Weekend project.

Took delivery of my MY23 at the end of the year, so I’m still doing all the things which set a baseline for the bigger mods to come (suspension, 37s, IC upgrade/relo, hidden winch, etc).

Other stuff done so far but not posted to this thread are full PPF, aux lighting install, SmartCap + lighting, BuiltRight MOLLE bedside panels, tow hook swap, dashcam hardwire and mount, radar detector hardwire and mount, stubby antenna and the usual Forscan tweaks.

These clips from the weekend were made for IG and posted to my Stories (@blinker.fluid), hence vertical format and contextual narration not needed on the forums ... but they cover what was done.

Oh man, I wanna do all of this especially the illuminated cup holders. Did you say a gentleman on the F150 forums makes those harnesses and it's just plug and play?

Yes I think the harness and the part was about $40 total.
I also did the HVAC controls and after I sold my original controls the costs was nothing.

You need two jumpers (the cables he makes) if doing both cup holders and ambient lighting (media bin / glovebox). $80 shipped. They look OE and are quality, and make tying in those retrofit elements 1000x easier than would be otherwise (plug-n-play).

Nice upgrades.

Question about the AC controls. Did you buy your controls new? I was looking to get a new controller but I have read that Forescan doesn't work on the new ones and you need another program to get it working.
I hunted down a new unit (NOS). There are tons of used ones on eBay, but I didn’t want to take the chance on a used unit not working (in general, as in it was dropped or something).

Only thing needed is to restore your trucks As-Built values for the two HVAC modules. The unit will operate immediately upon install, but the seat heating/cooling and heated wheel functions don’t work. Restoring HVAC As-Built values makes it fully functional. There is a fault code that remains, but no check engine light or side effects and you’d only knowing running diagnostics

His name is John Forman, I got cables from him a couple of months ago, very nice guy.

I've had the cables and parts to do cup holder, media bin and glove box but haven't had the time to do it yet.

Curious how difficult it is to do all the disassembling? And how much time it woud take.

I've looked at the PDF instuctions on the F150 site and watched a couple of videos. Seems like a lot of work to get at the bin and cup holder.
