I am curious..... Did you ask his thoughts on the crack? Body flex because of HP (getty)?

Yes I did and he did see a tiny ding at the top. He said it could have been from a week ago or 6 months ago and some of the recent temp swings we are having caused the crack. Not HP flex.

I personally would stick with the horsepower flex issue excuse. It sounds better.

Sounds about right. Dealers here are the same. One quick lane here that has there stuff together. And they clean up the skid plate after there spillage. I let them know I appreciate that.
