Installed the replacement Icon bump stop strike pad that arrived today. Might hit the dealership in the morning to have them look at the transfer case and a few other warranty items.

Well, what I thought was going to be a 30 minute job ended up taking 2.5 hours.

My DeeZee Tailgate Assist decide to take a crap, but luckily was still within the warranty period. The ball mount for the lower shock attachment point broke off inside the nutsert and somehow fused or wedged itself to it. After rounds of drilling, twisting, prying, et al., the nutsert finally broke in half and required extraction from inside the tailgate. After getting pretty creative with different ways to fish it out, 2 hours later it was removed.

Pieces of metal removed:

Where is the kitchen sink? Lol
And was there anything harder than coffee in that mug?

I gave up on my deezee. It just doesn't hold up when off-roading. They did send me a replacement so customer service was great but haven't attempted to install it. Think a way to quick disconnect the shock would be ideal.

You need a beer mug not a coffee mug after that!

I learned my lesson, next time it'll be a Bloody Mary.

Rick - There's no quick release, as you know, but I've found a small flathead screwdriver works well. Slip it into the space between the ball mount and the end of the shock tube and twist the screwdriver the shock just pops off.
