Decided to swap out my black methods and go polished on my Gen 1. Also time for a new tire choice. I have been using Cooper Discoverer STTs for the last 6 years on several vehicles and loved them. Unfortunately, Cooper recently discontinued them. I was going to go with my 2nd favorite tire which is the Toyo Open Country M/T, but they are also discontinued so I opted for the Toyo Open Country R/T Trail. Now/Before. Opinion please, do you prefer the polished or black? View attachment 472621

I'm a big fan of polished wheels, I really like the aesthetic. On your truck though? The black on black looks pretty fugging sick.

Rear axle pinion seal leaking on and off last couple months, ordered a new one from Tasca (and stupidly the deflector and nut, didn't need either one), ordered OTC seal installer tool, was backordered, just got it and she's leaking again:

Got it removed (HF 3-jaw puller set for $21.99 worked perfect on the flange, nut is 1-1/8" so I already had the impact socket), all the parts cleaned up, and...dammit I ordered the wrong seal :rage:

Hopefully I can find a Motorcraft one locally or order one tomorrow. I could have sworn I gave Tasca the VIN to make sure but what I ordered was for an 8.8" not 9.75". Apparently one letter different; BL3Z-4676-A is correct, BR3Z-4676-A is wrong and doesn't appear to fit the front diff either. Anybody need a seal, deflector and locknut for an 8.8"?

BOTH! One for day/night, formal/informal. Tooling around / date night. If you have enough tires, I'd keep both sets.

Took off work to work on the truck and get it ready for the season closer this weekend. Freaking deer forced me at hoofpoint to cut two large sections out the frame for this one...
