My last few parts for the rear end rebuild should be here today. I originally ordered everything on the 4th, with most of the deliveries pending about a week out. But a few parts shipped from California to Iowa, got lost in the sauce for like a week, then showed up in New Hampshire like 3 or 4 days ago, chilled there for a day then went to Boston for a day then Atlanta for a day before finally making their way to Florida. Looking to have the truck back out on the road by Tuesday next week. Got some more [camping gear] on the way and a planned trip to Ocala. Also scouring FB marketplace to see if I cant pick up a dual sport or regular old dirt bike before then.

I've carried my old stand up jet skis the same way (not with the raptor though), and they worked like a gem.

I don't need to tow it everywhere I go.

Though I did see a custom trailer in North Carolina. Guy had tandem axle, dual jetski trailer with room up front for a motorcycle...

Made a short trip yesterday afternoon (Fri 8/18) w/ the old trusty 1st gen to peek at some of the Ford displays along 9 Mile at Woodward Ave before the shitshow (actual Dream Cruise) begins tomorrow (er, later today Sat 8/19).

They had a new "R" truck there amongst their vehicles. The Broncos were getting a lot of attention. A new Dark Horse 'stang was also present - loved seeing the colorshift of the paint on it in person (the brakes weren't too shabby either). Wonder if the paint might have been that new "Blue Ember" color (?) that Ford announced earlier this year for the Dark Horse. It absolutely danced in the sunlight depending on the angle of how you viewed it with your eyes (very loosely reminiscent of the old mystic / mystichrome paint job on the '96 and '04 snakes IMHO).

Wonder what a 1st gen truck would look like in that paint, hmmm....
