I’m considering a couple alternatives.

Detroit axle: claims lifetime warranty and is about $330, has same part number as cardone. Core charge is effectively the lifetime warranty.

Also considering advantage steering.
~$1350 but with $500 core. Reman in the US.

I called foutz, they scrapped the idea of an upgraded rack when they saw the potential cost for it.
Have you heard anything about these other brands? Nice to have a lifetime warranty, but the issue is both taking it on and off and also if they have stock for warranty replacement.

I saw Advantage as well, they're not too far from me. Tried bargaining with them but they did not budge on price.

I know a few people who have good experiences with Detroit on the electric racks, no comment on the warranty aspect. I agree at some point I would get irritated having to constantly swap racks.

I would love an intermediate option between swing set and stock. Foutz told me $3,000 seemed to big of a pill to swallow, but depending on what they are upgrading and how durable, I would/could have been on board.

I was planning on calling advantage and discussion what they rebuild in the rack and what if anything they upgrade over OEM.

Mines a 2014, thought I was good? Still driving fine today
I'm going to defer to someone with more knowledge but I was under the impression that it was more problematic with the older trucks, and the newer (2013/14) trucks were much less likely to have those issues but not immune.
